2025 Super Bowl Predictions
The tickets to the 2025 Super Bowl have been punched, as NFL fans are in store for a rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City is looking to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls, while the Philadelphia Eagles will be eager to avenge their 2023 Super Bowl defeat. The odds have been set, the lineups have been finalized, and it is time to take a look at bold predictions for the 2025 Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs: -120
The Kansas City Chiefs are slight favorites heading into the Super Bowl, and it is easy to see why. Patrick Mahomes has guided his team to the big game yet again and could solidify his superstar status with a fourth Super Bowl ring. They narrowly edged the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship round, getting the fourth down stops they needed to ice the game in the fourth quarter. They are healthy and well rested after being given the opportunity to rest their starters in Week 18, as they had already secured the top seed in the AFC and the first round bye that went with it. Their defense showed up in a big way against the Texans in the divisional round, before their offense got the job done in the championship round against the Bills.
The Chiefs have surrounded Patrick Mahomes with potential game changers on offense, and he will look to link up with Travis Kelce in what could be the final Super Bowl run for the duo. Kelce already has the most receptions (174), the second-most receiving touchdowns (20), and the second most receiving yards (2,039), trailing only Jerry Rice in the latter two statistics. His ability to consistently get open for Patrick Mahomes has made him the greatest tight end of all time, and he would love nothing more than to cap off his illustrious career with a third consecutive Super Bowl. Mahomes and Kelce have proven they are the best duo of all time in the NFL playoffs, and Mahomes still has another good 10 seasons before he eventually hangs up the cleats.
The Chiefs offense rightfully gets plenty of praise, but it has been their work on the defensive side of the ball that has made them a truly elite team this season. There are arguments that this is the strongest defense of Patrick Mahomes’ career, and that is a frightening thought as both teams get ready for the 2025 Super Bowl. Chris Jones continues to cause chaos on the defensive line, and his dominant partnership with George Karlaftis is impossible to slow down. The pair combined for 13 sacks in the regular season despite being frequently double teamed on the defensive line. Not only have they been able to make an impact, but the duo attracts all the attention and frees up space for the remaining Chief pass rushers.
Philadelphia Eagles: +105
The Philadelphia Eagles have been a run-focused team for several years, and they finally have a dynamic running back capable of taking advantage. Saquon Barkley followed up his 2,000-yard regular season with a dominant playoffs and is poised to keep that momentum alive in the Super Bowl. The Eagles easily swatted Green Bay aside in the opening round before leaning on their defense in a snowy divisional round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. In the NFC Championship, they had their most dominant game of the season, exploding for a 55-23 victory on the back of a 21-0 fourth quarter against the Commanders.
On offense, the quarterback usually gets the praise while the rest of the team is built to support a star signal caller. No disrespect to Jalen Hurts, but the Eagles took a very different approach. They started by building a dominant offensive line that is capable of pushing the line of scrimmage ahead on run plays up the middle. The 2.0 yards before contact is by far the best in the league, and it’s difficult to find a more dominant position group in the history of the NFL. Jason Kelce’s retirement was expected to end their dominant run, but centers Cam Jurgens and Landon Dickerson have been excellent in replacement. Wide receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are both capable of making big plays, but the Eagles offense rests on the shoulders of Barkley. Barkley scurried for a 60-yard touchdown on the opening play of the NFC Championship Game and set the tone for the rest of the contest. He has 5 touchdowns and 442 rushing yards this postseason and will be the primary focus for the Chiefs defensive gameplan. His ability to power up the middle or cut to the outside is unlike anyone else in the league and is a crucial piece of the Eagles offense.
On defense, the Eagles lost a pair of veteran players to free agency, but their rookies have stepped up in a big way. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell have been excellent, which has allowed the Eagles to prioritize other positions on the defensive side of the ball. Jalen Carter continues to run straight through offensive lines, and the Eagles ability to use one-on-one coverage in the secondary allows them to send the blitz more often than not. One unsung hero for the Eagles has been Zack Baun. Baun had a lackluster start to his NFL career but has made a huge impact in Philadelphia. His 3.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles in the regular season were more than his previous 4 seasons combined, and he capped it off with a crucial forced fumble and a pair of recoveries against the Commanders.
Bold Predictions
No Fireworks in New Orleans
This is a matchup between the two best defenses in the league, and there will not be many points put on the board at Super Bowl 59. This game will come down to who makes fewer mistakes on the offensive side of the ball, and I expect very conservative game plans from Nick Sirianni and Andy Reid. There are explosive offensive players for both teams, but these competitors got here on the back of dominant defensive play over highlight reel offensive touchdowns. This won’t be a repeat of the Patriots 10-3 Super Bowl victory. However, expecting a 41-33 or 38-35 thriller is a whole different story.
Kareem Hunt rushes for 100 yards and a touchdown
Saquon Barkley will rightfully get the spotlight at the running back position, but the Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt will match his production on the ground. Isaiah Pacheco has seen his snap share drop over the last few months, and Kareem Hunt has taken over as the team's primary running back. The veteran is responsible with the football, and Reid will call his number early and often against the Eagles. Philadelphia will be focused on preventing anything over the top and could leave the tackle box open for a few big runs up the middle from Hunt.
Zack Baun completes the hat trick
Zack Baun has been a menace on the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles, and he is exactly the type of player the Eagles have prioritized on their roster. His ability to seek out the football will allow him to register a sack, fumble, and interception against Patrick Mahomes. Baun has been hungry for the football this season, and him forcing a fumble on a run up the middle feels inevitable. Baun has failed to register a sack in the postseason but has been sent on the blitz on multiple occasions. He may be able to double up with a strip sack to get this prediction 2/3 of the way there, but I expect him to find the quarterback at least once at Super Bowl 59. He picked off Jordan Love in the Wild Card round and has already seen multiple batted balls fall painfully close to him in the postseason. The right deflection will give Baun a chance to complete the defensive hat trick, as the Eagles Super Bowl chances hinge on Baun generating turnovers on defense.
Travis Kelce Super Bowl MVP: +1800
This was one of my bold predictions last season, and we are running it back this year too. The storyline surrounding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift has been pushed by the league, and they would love nothing more than to grant their Swifty superstar the Super Bowl MVP. Patrick Mahomes is the obvious favorite for this award. However, if Kelce can post a stat line resembling his 7 catch, 117 yard, 1 touchdown performance against the Texans, he could be the first tight end to win the Super Bowl MVP. There are rumors this could be the last dance for Kelce with the Chiefs, and capping things off with a Super Bowl MVP would be the fairytale ending for the league’s hottest couple (figuratively and literally).
