by Simon Noble - 01/10/2007
As the NFL divisional playoffs approach, 32 contenders have been reduced to just eight. This weekend four more teams will bite the dust, and with them, countless Super Bowl futures tickets. Pinnacle Pulse - Finding an Edge in Minor Sports
by Pinnacle Sportsbook - 12/28/2006
To the uninitiated the mechanics of the stock market can seem somewhat of a mystery. The rise and fall of share prices can be difficult to pre-empt as market reaction normally occurs a full week before good or bad news is released, yet once the information hits the headlines, it creates barely a ripple. For an average investor waiting to act until after good news is released is a quick route to the poor house. Many times, I've sat on my hands and watched a stock rise or fall during the day, and later thought "if only I bought it before the price shot up, or shorted before it tanked!"

Pinnacle Pulse: Handicapping College Bowl Games
by Simon Noble - 12/13/2006
With 32 College Bowl Games spread through January 8th, many handicappers are putting in extra hours. While some suggest treating these games just like any other, there are two good reasons to spend some extra time studying these match-ups. First, games that are televised over the holidays have more "public" money bet on them, giving the studious player the opportunity to gain an extra edge. Second, there are a number of factors that cause many of these games to play out differently from the regular season, giving yet more value to professionals.

Professional players dedicate many hours each week shopping for the best price, and will often spend more time in this endeavor than handicapping. The Inside Wagering Line From Pinnacle Sports Book By Simon Noble - 01/04/2006
In the early years of sports betting, public money was the dominant factor. The influence of public money was so great that the lines were often over inflated to force some control over the positions a sportsbook would take on a game. The squares forced certain patterns every week - take the favorite and over early, and the dog and under right before post. These patterns were even more pronounced for Monday night games and the playoffs.

A common thread that I see on many gaming forums concerns the subject of
teasers. One of the generally held misconceptions is that they are sucker
bets to be avoided at all costs. I've been actively involved in bookmaking
