Kevin Na put on a putting clinic at TPC Summerlin last week in Las Vegas to win the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in a playoff over another former champion in Patrick Cantlay. He three-putted on the second playoff hole, and that opening is all Na needed to win the tournament for the second time. He shot 23-under 261 this time as in 2011 but didn't need a playoff back then. Wouldn't have needed one this time, either, but for a triple-bogey on the 10th hole Sunday.

Really cool moment on Sunday when 24-year-old Cameron Champ won the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif., and got very emotional because his grandfather is battling cancer in nearby Sacramento. Champ's grandfather is the person who introduced him to the sport. Champ drained a 3-foot birdie putt on the par-5 18th hole for a one-stroke victory over Adam Hadwin at Silverado Resort.

Will the 2019-20 PGA Tour season be known as the year of the South Americans? Two weeks ago, Joaquin Niemann became the first Tour winner to hail from Chile, and on Sunday at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi, Colombia's Sebastian Munoz got his first Tour win. Munoz drained a 15-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to force a playoff with Sungjae Im and then won that playoff on the first hole with a par.

Looking for a potential breakout star this season on the PGA Tour? I give you 20-year-old Chilean Joaquin Niemann. I picked him a couple of times to win last season, but he wasn't able to finish the job. On Sunday, at the Military Tribute at the Greenbrier in West Virginia, Niemann shot a final round 6-under 64 to finish at 21-under 259 for his first Tour victory in the season opener.

It was a few weeks ago, but let's quickly recap the 2018-19 season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta as Rory McIlroy won in the new tournament format and claimed the $15 million FedEx Cup grand prize. Man, $15 million for a weekend of golf! I'm in the wrong business.

Justin Thomas basically won the BMW Championship outside Chicago on Saturday when he shot a third-round 61. He would then shoot 68 on Sunday to finish at 25-under and three ahead of Patrick Cantlay. It was Thomas' first victory of the season and 10th of his career. He joined Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jack Nicklaus as the only players in the past 75 years to win 10 times on Tour, including a major championship, before the age of 27. We liked Aussie Adam Scott to win the BMW and he finished T9 after a final-round 67.

Patrick Reed won the Northern Trust outside New York City on Sunday for his first victory since the 2018 Masters. It vaulted him all the way from No. 50 in the FedEx Cup points to No. 2, thus ensuring him a spot in next week's season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta.

You may not have been paying too much attention to the Wyndham Championship last week at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., with a weak field, but relative unknown J.T. Poston accomplished something that modern greats like Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson, to name a few, have never done.

There are still four tournaments left in the 2018-19 PGA Tour season, but it probably doesn't matter what happens the rest of the way. Brooks Koepka likely wrapped up his second PGA Tour Player of the Year Award on Sunday by winning the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis.

Not surprising that an Irishman won the British Open on Sunday at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland - just surprising which one it was (yes, I know Ireland and Northern Ireland are technically different countries but same island). Rory McIlroy was the favorite playing not far from his hometown but he clearly was nervous or something on the first tee Thursday as he put up a quadruple bogey on the way to a shocking first-round 79. He rallied for a 65 on Friday but still missed the cut.

Six years ago, a former University of Texas national championship golfer got his first PGA Tour win at the John Deere Classic, also earning a spot into the following week's British Open. That was Jordan Spieth. On Sunday, the scenario repeated itself with Dylan Frittelli shooting a final-round 7-under 64 at TPC Deere Run for his first PGA win and a spot in this week's British Open, now the final major tournament of the season with the PGA Championship's move to May.

Quite a finish at the first-ever 3M Open outside Minneapolis on Sunday as PGA Tour rookie Matthew Wolff made a 26-foot eagle putt on the final hole to finish at 21-under to edge out Bryson DeChambeau and fellow rookie Collin Morikawa for Wolff's first Tour win. He's only 20 and was playing just his third Tour start as a professional event.

I'm doubting that you had any money on him, but if you knew Nate Lashley's backstory you probably couldn't help rooting for him to win the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic last week on the PGA Tour in its first-ever stop in Detroit.

Last week's Travelers Championship outside Hartford was essentially decided on the 17th hole Sunday. Chez Reavie once had a six-shot lead in the final round but that had dwindled to one. However, Reavie birdied 17 and Matt Kuchar double-bogeyed it and that was that. Reavie ended an 11-year drought on Tour with the victory.

If you had told me entering last week's U.S. Open at Pebble Beach that Brooks Koepka was going to shoot in the 60s each day and finish double digits under par, I would have bet my entire bank account that Koepka would have become just the second player ever to threepeat at the U.S. Open.

I generally don't pick a player to win a tournament that he's playing for the first time simply because he probably doesn't know the course all that well. Only so much you can learn from a practice round or two. Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy is playing more on the PGA Tour this season than years past for reasons I won't bore you with, but because of that he added the Canadian Open to his 2019 schedule for the first time.

A little advice from Jack Nicklaus apparently goes a long way! Patrick Cantlay won the Jack Nicklaus Award as the nation's best collegiate player in 2011, and he and the Golden Bear have had a relationship ever since. Last Friday morning before Cantlay's round at Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, Jack gave Cantlay a few words of advice because Nicklaus felt Cantlay was way too talented to have just one career PGA Tour win.

Kevin Na is one of those guys I usually pick to win at least one tournament a year even though as of last week he had just two career victories. Seems to always contend, though, and on Sunday at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial he added win No. 3 thanks to a final-round 66. Nah finished at 13-under 267, four ahead of Tony Finau.

We have a new No. 1 player in the world, and that guy is clearly the best player alive right now, especially in major championships. That guy would be Brooks Koepka, who led wire-to-wire at Bethpage Black to repeat as the PGA Championship winner on Sunday. The 29-year-old was the tournament's first wire-to-wire winner since 1983.

For the second Sunday in a row on the PGA Tour, we saw a relative unknown win his first Tour event as Sung Kang was the victor at the AT&T Byron Nelson in the Dallas area - where the South Korean lives. In his 159th career PGA Tour start, Kang shot a final-round 4-under 67 to finish at 23 under and beat Matt Every and Scott Piercy by two strokes.
