NFL Office Pool Picks Week 17
by Trevor Whenham - 12/24/2019
And then there was one. This long, strange NFL season has come down to the final week of action. And there is a whole lot left to be decided. Of the 16 games to be played in Week 17, 12 of them have playoff implications of some type. That makes this a very interesting slate of games to watch - and hopefully a fruitful one to pick straight up in our last week of NFL office pools action.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 16
by Trevor Whenham - 12/18/2019
We are in the final days now. The NFL year is in the second to last week of what has felt like a remarkably fast season. And there is still a whole lot to be decided. The more that is on the line in the closing weeks, the more interesting the games are to pick. And with 10 of the 16 games on the card having direct playoff implications of one kind or another, it doesn't get much better than this.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 15

We are getting into crunch time. Three teams have already wrapped up their divisions. Several more have wrapped up a playoff spot - they just needed to figure out what type. And for many, the season is all but over. This is where things start to get the most interesting in this league. And with sample sizes as big as they are, things should get more accurate for NFL office pool players, too. At least that's the theory. Here are my straight up picks for this week:
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 14

Last was a tough week for NFL office pool picks. There were a lot of things you couldn't see coming. If you had bet that the Bengals, Dolphins and Redskins would all win in the same week, you would have made a whole lot of money - but if you picked those three in your office pool then you really aren't very good at this even if you were right this time around. Last week is in the past, though. Here's how I see this week shaping up with straight up picks for your NFL office pools:
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 13

I feel pretty good about last week. There were three games that we were on the wrong side of, but all I am comfortable with. Picking the Jets and the Redskins is not good for your long-term health, so being beat by them is not so bad. And I have given up trying to figure out either the Bucs or the Falcons - both teams totally and utterly confound me - so losing on that game just feels inevitable.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 12
by Trevor Whenham - 11/19/2019
Last week was a pretty good one when it comes to our NFL office pool picks. It seemed like things made a lot of sense going into the week. And, much more often than not, they turned out as we expected them to. It was a welcome feeling after too many rough weeks this season. We're going for wins on the week now, because they overall title is well out of reach of anyone who has been following this advice.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 11
by Trevor Whenham - 11/12/2019
Do you know what I have to say about last week's NFL office pool picks? Absolutely nothing. I just don't want to talk about it. It went so very badly in every way that all we can do is move on. Pretend it never happened. That's what it will take to avoid ongoing trauma. I mean - the freaking Saints got crushed by the Falcons. At home. That's the kind of insanity that people just don't bounce back from. But we are going to bounce back. In a big way. And it starts now, with our NFL straight up picks for the week:
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 10

This has been an odd NFL season. A very odd one. For survivor pool players it has been incredibly straightforward. Each week there have been a few games that have been glaringly obvious. Total mismatches. And they have worked out just as expected. It's the rest of the games that have been a problem. Office pool players can't just cherry pick the easy games. They have to pick a winner in every game.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 9
by Trevor Whenham - 10/29/2019
Last week felt like one of the easiest weeks of the year when we sat down to make out NFL office pools picks. And though the Bills and Bears frustratingly let us down, it wound up being the most successful week of the year to date in these parts.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 8
by Trevor Whenham - 10/23/2019
You never know what is going to happen during a week of the NFL season until the final game is played. But at first glance, Week 8 is not one in which the edges of our seats are going to get a big workout. There are a lot of underwhelming matchups between mismatched teams this week. And there are several games that seemed a few weeks or months ago that they would be a whole lot better than they are likely to be now. It's just not a great week.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 7
by Trevor Whenham - 10/15/2019
It was an odd week of action last week in the NFL. In the 14 games played, there were seven games won by the betting underdogs. Most weren't hugely surprising as the spreads weren't big. But teams like the Jets in their upset of the Cowboys were enough to keep things interesting. Tough to pick, but interesting. Here's hoping things are a bit more as expected for Week 7 as we pick all 14 games straight up to help you win your office pools this week:

Last week was a mixed bag when it comes to my NFL picks, but after looking back at it I don't have a lot of regrets. There were some picks that felt tough at the time but worked out right - Seattle over the Rams, Arizona over the Bengals, Carolina over Jacksonville. And, for the most part, the games I got wrong are games that I would pick the same way if I had to - the Chiefs, Chargers and Bears all lost games they shouldn't have, and it doesn't feel like any of those teams would lose those games a majority of the time if they were played over and over again.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 5
by Trevor Whenham - 10/1/2019
Last week in my office pools was one of those times that you just have to redefine what success means. Sure, when it comes to pools, a typical definition of success would be to pick more winners than anyone else and win the cash for the week. And I wouldn't argue - that would be a success. But I really didn't do that last week. Or even come close.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 4
by Trevor Whenham - 9/24/2019
Week 3 of our NFL office pools selections was a bit of a mixed bag. We wound up with double-digit wins. That's a good thing. But the games that we didn't get right, for the most part, were the frustrating kinds of losses that can haunt you - Kyle Allen looking very much like an NFL quarterback despite never previously giving us any reason to expect he could, the Chargers refusing to play defense again, Daniel Jones in his debut looking better than Eli Manning ever did, and so on.
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 3
by Trevor Whenham - 9/17/2019
Last week was a weird week of NFL action. I wound up with a respectable enough 11 wins, but it didn't come smoothly. I was wrong in four of the first five games that wrapped up and was sure that I was in a lot of trouble. But from then on, only the Pittsburgh loss, caused as much by the early Big Ben injury as anything,
NFL Office Pool Picks Week 2

The first week of NFL office pool action is in the books. And, to be honest, I'm feeling pretty good about things. There were only 15 games in the end because of the Arizona-Detroit tie, and I picked 11 of them. That wasn't enough to win most pools, I'm sure, but given the craziness of the opening week this year, and my general dislike for the uncertainty of the opening weekend, I'll take it. And now it's time to do even better this week. Here's how the second week of the NFL season sets up in my eyes:

As we have done for many years now, we're going to help you dominate your office pools by picking a winner in every game all season. Let's get started:
