Week 8 was a good week, as many of our predictions came true. The biggest disappointment was the Giants, who failed to win at home against the visiting Seahawks. I was also a bit disappointed in the Panthers, who had a great defensive game against the Buccaneers the previous week but couldn’t hold down the Falcons. If it wasn’t for a Patrick Mahomes-like throw from PJ Walker, they wouldn’t have forced overtime. However, they still ended up losing.

Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL season. As a reminder, there are only 15 games on the schedule, as there are teams on their bye weeks. Last weekend we saw three big upsets as the Packers, Buccaneers, and Chargers were upset by their opponents. These games were difficult to watch because it was unexplainable how these teams couldn’t pull it together as they were big favorites to come out victorious. Let's put this past weekend and focus on Week 8 as good things await.

This past week in the NFL, I was pulling out hairs. There were some major upsets. If you are a bettor that likes to back the underdog, this was your weekend to be alive. The 49ers, Bucs, Packers, Ravens, and Browns all got stunned. These major favorites were handed losses by inferior underdogs. My jaw was dropped the entire day on Sunday. I was in such disbelief of what I was seeing. I just want to move on from what I saw, as many of our tickets and survivor pools were cooked this past weekend.

This past week, I was disappointed with some teams who couldn’t get it together. The Dolphins and Jaguars gave me a big headache as they played some of the worst football I have seen all year. The surprise of the week was the Giants upsetting the Packers in London. The favorite pick of the previous week was the Cowboys, as they took the game away from the Rams.

Last week was great when it came to backing the favorites to win. There weren’t any surprises at all. The only game where I felt like we got cheated on was the Rams game. The Rams were awful on offense. Matthew Stafford looked like a blind mouse trying to make plays on the field.

This past weekend was a headache for me as the Raiders and the Buccaneers both lost by a failed 2-point conversions. Then don’t get me started on that 49ers game, which featured some of the worst football I have ever seen. Other than that, this week went as planned for the most part. We even cashed in on a Jaguars pick for an upset in Los Angeles. We had over a 70% success rate in last week's pool selections, so let's get back to it.

Week 2 of the NFL season was madness!!! This weekend had me feeling like I was watching March Madness all over again. I couldn’t express how it felt to watch the jaw dropping fourth quarters that we saw. For bettors who are big on betting the underdog, this was a weekend to be alive for, as we saw five upsets and almost two more in Los Angeles and Kansas City.

We stated in our Week 1 NFL confidence pool picks article that we would play things conservatively, and that was obviously not the best strategy for Week 1. It’s still only Week 2 and there is absolutely no reason to panic yet. We did pick correct upset picks in Week 1 with Cleveland, Minnesota and Pittsburgh, so we aren’t too far from the right track. We scored 85 points in Week 1 and look to do even better for Week 2.

And we have one of the marquee matchups of the entire season to start us off tonight as the Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills travel to Los Angeles to take on the defending champion Los Angeles Rams. Every week in this space we will provide NFL confidence pool picks for every game. These picks are all straight up with no point spread. These confidence pool picks are also useful as NFL survivor pool picks as we will rank each matchup from strongest to weakest.

There is a lot of clarity after week 17, as six of the eight divisions have been decided before the last week of the season. The first week 18 of NFL history is before us, and the Indianapolis Colts need to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars for a wild card spot. The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are playing for a playoff spot, which will be an exciting matchup. The New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles will be fighting for the final two spots in the NFC wild card race.

The Buffalo Bills were able to take control of the AFC East yet again after a commanding win over the New England Patriots Sunday. Josh Allen was able to step up and be the all pro player many fans expect him to be. The Patriots failed to force a punt the entire game; it was the first time in Bill Belichick career. The Bills showed once again why they can be a team to come out of the AFC come playoff time.

John Harbaugh, coach of the Baltimore Ravens, made another extremely risky and criticized decision against Green Bay by electing to go for two points and the potential win rather than tying the game to force an overtime. The decision can show lack of confidence in his squad and a sense that they were lucky to be in that situation versus the Packers. It has pushed the Ravens out of a playoff spot and makes their game against the Cincinnati Bengals a must win Sunday.

The hunt for the AFC North title continues to heat up going into week 15 of the NFL season. The Cleveland Browns beat divisional rival Baltimore, putting both the Browns and the Bengals one game back from being atop the AFC North. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been able to hang around as well, sitting only two games back. The Ravens have lost three of their last five games. To add to the struggles in Baltimore, quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury that could really inhibit his play making ability going forward.

In a classic AFC East battle, the New England Patriots travelled to Buffalo Monday night. Bill Belichick proved once again why he is a football genius, as he consistently finds ways to win in any type of game script. The Patriots threw the ball only three times on Monday and were able to keep Josh Allen under lock, winning a gritty 14-10 football game. New England is now atop the AFC and have won seven in a row.

The Green Bay Packers put together another very impressive victory against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have made numerous noteworthy transactions in 2021 but seem to be out of sorts. December will be a make or break month if the Rams are going to make a push for the NFC West. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a very impressive come from behind victory against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday.

Yes, the Indianapolis Colts have saved their season. After starting 0-3, the Colts have bounced back, winning six of their last eight. The most important win coming last week vs AFC powerhouse, the Buffalo Bills. The Colts dominated in all facets Sunday in Buffalo. Jonathan Taylor ran at will vs the number one defense in the NFL, and the Colts defense was forcing Josh Allen into very poor decisions.

It was another wild week in the NFL during week 10 of the 2021 season. We saw some expected outcomes and other stunning results. In primetime games this year, underdogs are covering at a 75 percent clip, and of the 28 games played there have been 10 outright underdog winners. Making this season all the more fun and unpredictable, it also makes it attainable to catch up in any confidence league.

We saw another sloppy performance by the Kansas City Chiefs over the Green Bay Packers. The Packers looked totally out of sync without Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes looked very average at best. All this game was good for was leaving the public with less confidence in the Chiefs. The Baltimore Ravens snuck out another close victory against the Minnesota Vikings, going into their third overtime game of the year.

Week 8 saw some very unlikely performances and unexpected upsets. It was one of the harder weeks to pick thus far in 2021, there were seven underdogs who won in week 8, and none was bigger than the New York Jets over the Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Mike White for the Jets made his first career NFL start against the Bengals and served Cincinnati one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season. White threw for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns, scoring 14 unanswered points in the last five minutes.

Week 7 allowed us to learn about a lot of teams, both good and bad. Last Sunday, October 24, consisted of six games being decided by 22 points or more, tying an NFL record. What was more amazing about that stat is three of the teams were underdogs. The biggest concern going into week 8 has to be the Kansas City Chiefs, many assumed, including myself, that the Chiefs had the perfect matchup to turn the tables against an inconsistent Titans team.
