Take ‘Over’ Toronto at New York Yankees (7 p.m., Friday, August 2)

Toronto has to be one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season, but I think they will be able to put up some runs in Yankee Stadium. Marcus Stroman will be on the mound for New York, and he hasn’t been very lucky when he pitches at home this season. Stroman has pitched one more inning on the road (57.1) than at home (56.1), but he has allowed 15 home runs at home and just 3 on the road, so I can see the Jays taking him deep in this matchup. Kevin Gausman has pitched very well on the road this season, as he is 6-3 with a 2.34 ERA across 10 starts. However, the Yankees have had his number as he has given up 13 earned runs on 15 hits (3 HR) over 3 starts (10.2 IP) and I think New York will continue to feast on his offerings. The last four games Stroman has pitched in Yankee Stadium double digit runs were scored, which is what I think will happen in this game to push it over the total. The New York Yankees are scheduled to go with starter Marcus Stroman in this one. Stroman has the 2nd highest negative differential in MLB this year in ERA-FIP, meaning he's overrated, which in turn makes him overvalued in the betting markets at this time. On the other side of things, Toronto is expected to go with starter Kevin Gausman in this one and Gausman has a road ERA that's over 4.00 runs lower than it's been at home this season. They should annihilate this Colorado pitching staff and run up the scoreboard on this ballclub.
