Another win last week with Maryland (-5) hammering Nebraska last Saturday. They have benefitted from one of the 20 easiest schedules in college basketball, though, and this team has dumped five of its last six. That includes a home loss to IUPUI and a loss to Robert Morris. All six of their last six games have been decided by less than eight points. I don’t trust either one of these teams. But neither is playing well enough (or poorly enough) to expect a blowout. Both teams are 5-5 in league play, and both of them desperately need this game. It should play out as a tight one. Similarly, when it comes to true shooting percentage, Brooklyn ranks 25th in the NBA. With an average of 36 points, 5.8 assists, and 11.4 boards per game, Joel Embiid is practically unbeatable. With only their fifth-best offensive rebounding defense to work with, Brooklyn enters this clash with no advantages. That statistic is completely irrelevant when you're playing Embiid. Coming into Philadelphia and dealing with this formidable Philadelphia club leaves me with no solutions for Brooklyn.
