That is now 13 of 16 wins in this space, and I am 58-31 (65%) with my free newsletter plays over the last 89 weeks. These two weekend rivals are getting together for a weekend set, and I expect it to be domination by Philadelphia from start to finish. Pittsburgh got off to an oddly effective start to this season. But they have come back to reality in a big way. They are 5-15 in their last 20 games and 10-27 in their last 37. Not great. It looks like the Pirates are going to go with some kind of opener; maybe Osvaldo Bido or Ryan Borucki or some other clown. I don’t think that is going to be enough to slow down a Phillies team that is fighting and clawing for wins. Zack Wheeler is slated to go in this matchup, and he is coming off an excellent start in a 1-0 win over Cleveland. He has allowed three runs or less in seven of his last 10 starts and he is 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA in his five career starts against Pittsburgh. This season has been rough for the Mets, who entered Sunday seven games back of a National League Wild Card spot.
