Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Vernon Croy:
Take Arizona (-1.5) over San Diego (9:40 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17)
We are taking the Arizona Diamondbacks on the runline -1.5 over the San Diego Padres as your free pick for Thursday, August 17, 2023. Gallen has pitched solid this season with an ERA of 3.24 and 165 total strikeouts, and I expect a solid start from him here Thursday. Gallen also has an ERA of just 2.373 starts during the month of August and he is 2-0 in 3 starts against San Diego this season with an ERA of just 1.89. Opponents have also hit just .229 against Gallen over his last 5 starts, and San Diego has hit just .232 as a team lifetime against him over 142 total lifetime at bats. Hill has an ERA of 7.17 over his last 5 starts, with opponents hitting .337 against him and he has an ERA of 9.82 in 2 starts against Arizona this season with the Diamondbacks hitting .389 against him. Hill also has an ERA of 5.02 in 11 starts at night this season with opponents hitting .310 against him. So we are taking the Arizona Diamondbacks on the run line over the San Diego Padres here Thursday night. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Scott Spreitzer:
Take ‘Under’ 39 Carolina at New York (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18)
Both offenses were as vanilla as it gets last week, and I suspect we'll see more of the same tonight. The Panthers, with Bryce Young at QB, gained a total of 165 yards in their 27-0 loss to the Jets. Play calling was so basic for the young signal caller that the Panthers didn't even run any pre-snap motion. Meanwhile, the Giants know what they have and tossed out a basic game plan. The G-men gained just 243 yards on only 4.4 yards per play. I expect more of the same from New York, and we've already heard Carolina HC Frank Reich saying he wants to reveal nothing to the rest of the league this preseason. I'm on the Under between the Panthers & Giants on Friday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take #410 Houston (-3) over Miami (4 p.m., Saturday, August 18)
Houston has started to showcase some preseason dominance, and it's time to take notice. Now, we know they aren't on the level of the Ravens, but the Texans have quietly won four NFLX games in a row and won six of their last seven overall. The Texans looked outstanding on the defensive side of the ball and should find similar success against the Dolphins. Miami Head Coach Mike McDonald sat most of his regulars in their first preseason game and will do more of the same in this matchup. McDonald is more concerned with rounding out the roster than getting his stars hurt. The Texans will look to get CJ Stroud some more time, as he didn't look great in Week 1, but will also get Davis Mills more time as he was solid in relief of Stroud. Houston will get another preseason win in this matchup as they coast to victory 24-13. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take Indianapolis (-2) over Chicago (7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19)
Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, completed 7 of 12 passes for 67 yards with an interception for the Colts (0-1). Richardson will definitely see extended action here on Saturday as the Colts try to get him acclimated to the speed of the NFL game. It is very likely that Gardner Minshew will be the opening day QB for Indianapolis, and Minshew will likely see extended action as well, after connecting on all six of his pass attempts for 72 yards vs the Bills last Saturday. Justin Fields was 3-of-3 passing for 129 yards in limited action vs Tennessee last week but might see more playing time here vs the Colts as the Bears try to get him on the same page with DJ Moore, who just came over from Carolina, and big things are expected of the Fields/Moore connection this season. The bottom line is we feel the Colts will have the edge at QB as Richardson/Minshew for most of the game is probably better than Fields/Peterman, and the Colts come off a loss and the Bears come off a win, not that it matters much in preseason, but Shane Steichen will likely want his club to get used to what winning feels like and he is a first year head coach, so he will probably want to experience what winning feels like as an NFL head coach, and we'll roll with the Colts here over the Bears on Saturday. Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take Arizona (+120) over San Diego (8:40 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19)
Arizona is expected to go with starter Merrill Kelly in this one. Kelly is quietly having a fantastic season so far, posting a 3.05 ERA, and he's been even better away from home with a very strong 2.79 ERA in 2023. The veteran right-hander faces off here against a San Diego offense that ranks 28th in the league in team batting average versus right-handed pitching. The Padres will counter with Yu Darvish on the hill. Darvish has been very average this year, and he's really struggled since the end of May, posting a 4.67 ERA in his last 13 starts. San Diego has been one of the biggest disappointments in the league this year as they've cost their followers nearly 23 units overall in 2023. Play Arizona in this game. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or mail today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Tony George:
Take ‘Over’ 40.0 Kansas City at Arizona (8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19)
One of the highest totals on the board this week, and I understand that. KC's game against the Saints added up to 50 points, and there was a quarter by each team they went scoreless and it still got to 50. The Cards managed 19 points and a win against Denver, who struggled with a new offensive scheme. That said, I think Kansas City opens it up a bit more here on offense after a 24-point game last week, and you will see a few more starters for KC as well as the Cardinals. And with a week under their belt, I expect some scoring in this game. The Cards defense will have issues this week against the offensive schemes of Andy Reid, and I clearly see KC in the high 20's here and I also feel AZ can get 21 or more as well. Take ‘over’ in this week 2 NFLX game. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or mail today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Call 1-866-238-6696 or email service@docsports.com and mention newsletter discount. Offer expires at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18.
Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take ‘Under’ 39 Denver at San Francisco (8:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19)
We saw the 49ers struggle on both sides of the ball in Week 1 of the NFLX season, and I do not believe their offense will be much better in this game. Denver played some of their starters into the second quarter last week against Arizona, and they struggle to move the football as well. Lots of games went over the posted total, but I believe that the defenses will dominate this one game and allow for a low scoring game. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card, featuring our NFLX Game of the Year on Sunday. This is one of the most sought out games in the entire country, and you can purchase it right here on this site! Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Griffin Murphy:
Take Los Angeles Dodgers over Miami (9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19)
Miami has a record of 62-57, while Los Angeles has a record of 71-46. Since the All-Star break, Miami's performance has deteriorated significantly. Miami is 4-8 in their last 10 games and 26-32 away from home this season. Then, let's dive into trends. In April, Miami was 15-12, in May they were 13-14, in June they were exceedingly hot, going 19-8, in July they were 9-15, and now in August they are 5-7 with a batting average of just .244. First, the Marlins play their worst baseball on the road, and second, they play their worst baseball at night, with a 31-32 record. Both of these facts are crucial to tonight's matchup. Los Angeles has been on a Frenzy of consecutive victories. Los Angeles is 9-1 in their last 10 games, have won 8 consecutive games, and have an outstanding home record of 38-20, summing up their dominating performance of late and throughout the 2023 season. With a record of 54-27 during night contests, Los Angeles has the best nighttime baseball record in the MLB. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or mail today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Free NFL Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Indianapolis Colts ‘Under’ 6.5 Wins (-105)
That is now 15 of 18 wins in this space, and I am 60-31 (66%) with my free newsletter plays over the last 90 weeks. Let’s keep it rolling! I posted this play in this space last week. I’m re-posting it because I absolutely love this pick, especially now that the Colts have announced that Anthony Richardson will be the starter. That is a colossal mistake – which I documented in an article HERE – and they are in for an ugly season. It has been 21 years since the NFL adopted its current 32-team, eight-division format. In that time, there have been 45 teams that have won three or fewer games in a season. There have been 98 teams over that period – an average of 4.7 per season – that have won four or fewer games each year. Now, these numbers are compromised a bit by the fact that the league now plays a 17-game schedule. However, the last quarter century of football history suggests that two teams are going to end this season with three wins or less, and four or five of them are going to win four games. Let’s bump both of those up and say that two teams will win four or less and five of them are going to win five or fewer games. Now you have to ask yourself: are the Colts one of the five worst teams in the NFL? There is not a doubt in my mind. The defense isn’t nearly strong enough to carry the load, and I think that this team is going to be involved in a lot of shootouts. Their best running back, Jon Taylor, is angry and won’t play well this season. Their receivers stink. They have a first-year head coach and we have no idea if he is going to be any good. These guys are just bad. The Colts haven’t won fewer than five games in back-to-back seasons since 1997-98. However, that was a transition period from Lindy Infante and Jim Harbaugh to Jim Mora and Peyton Manning. This is another transition year, and things will get uglier before they get better. Free NFL Futures Play From Doug Upstone:
Take Tampa Bay Bucs ‘Under’ 5.5 (+130) Wins - Alternate Line
Tampa Bay got their money’s worth out of Tom Brady, but he’s now officially retired. Last year the Buccaneers were 8-9 with Brady throwing seemingly on every down, and he bailed his team out in a couple of games in the fourth quarter to win games they should not have. That won’t be the case this season with Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask under center. Though nobody will argue Todd Bowles is an excellent defensive coordinator, last year he proved the skeptics right he’s still a work in progress as a head coach. The Bucs offense will have more balance, but ranking better than 15th like last year seems like a stretch. Last year Tampa Bay was a Top-10 defense, but they could easily slip with more bad field position and turnovers from the quarterback position. This is a rebuilding team, and like the Rams, they could be moving quality players from draft picks at the trade deadline, further weakening this club. In looking at the schedule, one can make a case for 5 or 6 victories, but their listed win total of 6.5 comes with -140. I’m willing to go to the alternate line of Under 5.5 with +130 odds, looking for two winners (also UN6.5) at 5. Free NFL Futures Play From Raphael Esparza:
Take Green Bay Packers ‘Over’ 2.5 (-200) Divisional Wins
Everybody in the league believes since the Packers will be without Aaron Rodgers that the Packers are just going to lay down and let the division walk all over them. The Packers will still be able to run the ball, and I see their defense playing well to give them opportunity to win all division games. The NFC North is going to be very interesting all season long, and I see the Packers winning 3 games and it’s because of their run game and defensive play. Keep an eye out for QB Jordan Love legs this season, because don't forget in college he was very mobile.
