Free NFL Football Prediction From Doug Upstone:

Take Detroit (-7.5) over Green Bay (12:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 23)

There is a case to be made for Green Bay on Turkey Day in Detroit. The Packers are far from elite, but they have looked better offensively under Jordan Love, with three straight games totaling in the 390s for total offense. Green Bay might only be 1-4 SU on the road and losers of four straight, but those losses have come by a grand total of 11 points. Though the Pack is vulnerable to the run, they rank #10 in points allowed and they were embarrassed by the Lions earlier at home 34-20. Jared Goff played his worst games of the season, and the Detroit defense was not much better in permitting Chicago to rack up 26 points on the road. The Lions' defense has not looked as stout recently in permitting 26, 38 and 38 points in three of their last five outings. Yet, here is the thing, the Detroit offense is not only physical in the run game but they have a load of offensive weapons on the perimeter. They also have good running backs who cause problems for opposing teams in the passing game when matched up with linebackers besides their skills as runners. Despite Green Bay’s recent improvement in moving the pigskin, they still have scored their season average of just over 20 PPG. With the Lions on a 4-1 SU and ATS run vs. the Packers, look for them to send a message that they are the new kings of the NFC North. The half-point hook is a bit of a cause for trepidation, but I see the Detroit covering and winning by 10. I think they will be looking past the Huskers here and ahead to that game. The Arkansas State Red Wolves will be in Huntington, WV, this week for a matchup with the Marshall Thundering Herd.
