The Dodgers have lost four of their last five games in Coors Field, and I think that they will want to get off to a solid start in this series after taking some embarrassing losses to the Nationals. Jose Urena is in line to start for the Rockies in this game. He has made only four career starts in Coors. His last start there was great, and he gave up just five hits and no runs in six innings against the Pirates. I think that he is going to have a much, much harder time staying in front of this Dodgers lineup. I can see the Dodgers scoring 8-9 runs in this game, and this one should fly over the total. Take ‘Under’ 7.0 N.Y. Mets at Miami (7 p.m., Friday, July 29)

I am now 29-15 (66%) with my free plays in this space over the last 44 weeks and my goal is to hit over 60 percent for a full calendar year with these free predictions. This is a letdown spot for the Mets. They played a big series with the Padres last weekend, complete with a Sunday Night Baseball tilt. They followed that up with an emotional series with the Yankees at home in games that had a playoff atmosphere. Now they have to head to South Beach and play a Marlins team that will have no fans and no energy in the building. Making matters worse, they have to face Sandy Alcantara in the opener. The guy is a stud. He has a 1.66 ERA at home and a 1.71 ERA in his last three starts, and he is going to shut the Mets down here. The Mets are going with Chris Bassitt. He was great in his last start, striking out 11 in a 2-1 loss to the Padres. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs in his last six starts and has been steady and consistent. Miami has had all kinds of problems scoring lately, including getting shut out four times in a six-game stretch. This one smells like a 3-1 or a 4-2 (at most) game. I could also see a 1-0 contest. Take N.Y. Yankees (-1.5) over Kansas City (7 p.m., Friday, July 29)

This is the second of four skirmishes between Kansas City and New York in the Big Apple. As you are aware, the Yankees have been either the best team in the majors or among them. They have scuffled a bit of late, yet there was no reason to think they were going to continue at a .700 winning pace. Kansas City has been in a head-to-head battle with Detroit for last place in the AL Central, though they have been close to a .500 squad the last couple of weeks. Though the Yanks Gerrit Cole (9-3, 3.09 ERA) has been less consistent of late, he should be able to contain a Royals lineup that is 25th in scoring. Cole’s mound opponent is expected to be Kris Bubic (2-6, 5.53 ERA). The K.C. lefty has shown little command with 37 walks in 68 1/3 innings, while still conceding 76 hits in this span. Little wonder his WHIP is 1.65. If New York doesn’t light up Bubic, the Royals bullpen leads the majors in walks, giving the Bronx Bombers more chances to score. New York on the RL. At first glance, the Boston Red Sox look like a very average team this season with an overall record right around .500 currently. There are situations, though, where Boston is actually a very good team, and a few of those things line up here in this contest against Milwaukee. The Red Sox have been excellent when they are playing outside of their extremely difficult division, going 37-19 overall, which is equal to a team on pace for 107 wins over a 162-game season. They will go up here against a Brewers team that comes out of the worst division in baseball this year. If Boston was in the NL Central, I would argue they would be leading that division right now. The Red Sox have also done very well when going up against left-handed starters this year, going 16-7 thus far, and they are scheduled to face a southpaw here in this one.
