Detroit is the hottest team in the NFL right now. And I have no qualms about betting against Sam Darnold, who is a proven loser. The Lions have gone 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games. And it hasn’t been fluky. They are beating the spread by an average of nearly 11 points per game, so the numbers haven’t been close. Last week against the Steelers, the Panthers gained fewer than 230 total yards of offense. That is the second time in the last four weeks and the fourth time in the last nine weeks that they have been that feeble on offense. They are a bad team with a good defense. Detroit’s offense has been good enough to score on everybody, so I don’t expect the Panthers to shut them down. I don’t love the Lions as a road favorite. The Miami Dolphins finally return home after three straight difficult games on the road against the 49ers, Chargers and Bills. I will take the points in this game. Tampa Bay is the worst ATS team in the NFL this year. They are just 3-11 ATS this season and they are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games. The Bucs have not been a good road team. They have lost four straight games both SU and ATS on the road. Arizona is down to third string quarterback Trace McSorley. He will be much better prepared for this game. He is not being thrown in during the middle of the game, and he will get to prepare as the starter this week going up against a weak Tampa Bay defense. Arizona is 5-2 ATS after an ATS loss. The Cardinals are 4-0 ATS against Tampa Bay, and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in this series. Take the points.
