Esparza will also have a 6-Unit NFL Play as the playoffs kick off this weekend, followed by a 5-Unit NFL Play on Monday. He also has a 7-Unit NBA Play set up for Friday and a 6-Unit NHL Play locked and loaded for Saturday. Free College Basketball Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take Illinois over Michigan. (9 p.m., Friday, January 14)
Illinois is starting to live up to the preseason hype and take care of their own business. This should be an opportunity to watch two of the best big men in the Big 10 in Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson and All-American candidate Kofi Cockburn from Illinois. Cockburn is averaging a double-double of 22.0ppg and 12.5rbg and has led the Illini to wins in 10 of their last 11. However, it is not all about the post men. Alfonso Plummer and Trent Frazier are giving good production from the guard positions, and Coach Brad Underwood has a bunch that is finally starting to play to their roles. While Michigan and Coach Juwan Howard were the darlings of last year, they have proven to be too young and inconsistent to keep that momentum going. At 7-6 SU and 5-8 ATS, the Wolverines are a middling team in a pretty deep conference. Since Michigan likes to play a slower pace to get leading scorer and rebounder Dickinson (16.1ppg, 8.8rbg) involved, that isn’t necessarily going to help them against Cockburn and the wing defenders of Illinois. We’ve seen this happen against every team with a larger presence in the middle; blowout losses to Arizona and North Carolina in particular. We like the Illinois team to continue its ascension to the top of the Big 10 pile and to send Michigan to their third straight loss. Free College Basketball Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take UNLV over Fresno State (11 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14)
The Rebels continue to improve under first year Coach Kevin Kruger. UNLV has won 5 of their last 6 games and played San Diego State tough two weeks ago. Fresno State is not the same team on the road and has been alternating wins and losses for the last few weeks. That trend should hold true again on Friday as the Rebels take care of business at home. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card, featuring football and basketball action. Jump on board now with a long-term package and let 50 years of handicapping experience work for you. Free College Basketball Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take SMU (-3) over Tulane (2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14)
Last week’s college hoops hit with Detroit over Milwaukee ran our newsletter free play record to 14-5! Let’s see if we can get another hit here with the Mustangs. SMU had gotten on a roll, winning eight straight, before their loss to Cincinnati last week. They’ve had a week to stew on that one, and I expect a bounce back effort here. Tulane is solid. Ron Hunter is a good coach with a really young team. I don’t see them pulling the upset in this one, though. The Mustangs are on a 6-1 ATS run and they are 6-0 ATS in their last six games as a favorite. I think that this team is legit, and with Kendric Davis they have one of the best point guards in the league. I like Davis to guide them to another W here. Free NFL Football Prediction From Doug Upstone:
Take ‘Under’ 43.5 New England at Buffalo (8:15 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15)
In the past five meetings with these AFC East rivals, the OVER is 3-1-1, and that includes the wind-blown contest that led to the one lower scoring affair. However, this is the playoffs now, and quarterbacks playing in their very first postseason games are notoriously poor bets. This is due to pressure, and more often than not of being on the road. You should also know that outdoor Wild Card games for the past 18 years are 35-16 UNDER, as the elements typically keep the scores lower. As does the fact that the No. 6 seeds playing on the road are 24-5 UNDER in the playoffs. Let’s take the UNDER in upstate New York. Free UFC Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take T.J. Brown vs. Gabriel Benitez ‘Over’ 2.5 Rounds (UFC Saturday)
A little shocked on Benitez being a big favorite against TJ Brown, but I'm really confused that the juice on the 'Over' isn't -140 or higher. Brown's last two UFC fights both went the distance, and Benitez’s last fight against Billy Quarantillo went the distance. In Benitez’s last 4 fights, he has lost 3 of them, so I see him putting the pressure on Brown early. If Brown can avoid the KO/TKO, he will be a live dog throughout the whole fight, and no matter who wins this fight will see the 3rd round. Free NFL Football Prediction From Allen Eastman:
Take First Half #146 Tampa Bay (-4.5) over Philadelphia (1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16)
I am going to take the Bucs in the first half in this one. I had a great 7-Unit winner last week on a first half play with Tennessee. The Titans gave up a lot of points in the second half and let Houston in the backdoor, so it was a very savvy win. I am seeing the same thing in this one. I think that Tampa Bay is going to jump out to at least a touchdown lead in the first half in this game. The Eagles have just one win this year against a team that is over .500. This team is fortunate to be in the playoffs. The Eagles are the weakest team in the playoff field. Tampa Bay is motivated to go for back-to-back Super Bowls, and they have some key players coming back from injury for this game. The Eagles are just 2-5 ATS as a road underdog, and the Bucs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. Tampa Bay is 6-1 ATS at home and is coming off another home blowout win last week. I like them to get off to a fast start here. Take Tampa Bay in the first half. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or email today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Call 1-866-238-6696 or email service@docsports.com and mention newsletter discount. Free NFL Football Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take #150 'Under' 46.5 Pittsburgh at Kansas City (8:15 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16)
These two teams faced off late in the regular season, and Kansas City rolled to an easy 36-10 victory. The Steelers defense didn't play as bad as the final score looked in that one as they held the Chiefs to 381 yards and 5.7 yards per play in the game, both below the season averages for KC. The game time total in that game was also a few points lower than this one here. Pittsburgh knows their only chance is to rely on their much better defense and try keep this game low scoring. That's been the recipe the Steelers have used for success all season as they've went 7-1-1 straight-up in games where there were 40 combined points or less. The Kansas City Chiefs enter the playoffs on fire with 8 wins in their last 9 games. Things really took off for KC in the 2nd half of the year, mainly because of their excellent play on the defensive side of the football as they allowed just 17.9 points per game in those last 9 contests, which was more than 11 points per game fewer than they allowed in their first 7 games this season. Over a full season, that 17.9 PPG allowed would have put KC 3rd best overall in the NFL. Play 'under' the total in this one.
