Free College Football Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take #144 Pittsburgh (-7) over West Virginia (7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1)
West Virginia and No. 17 Pittsburgh kick off the 2022 season by renewing the Backyard Brawl series on Sept. 1, the first meeting between unfriendly neighbors since 2011. Former USC QB Kedon Slovis is now the QB at Pitt after the departure of Kenny Pickett, and he'll oppose West Virginia's JT Daniels, the well-traveled former five-star recruit who previously battled Slovis for snaps at Southern Cal. Slovis had 58 touchdowns and more than 7,500 passing yards and 58 touchdowns at USC. "It's been a great carrot for our guys as we've gone through winter, through spring ball, now through summer workouts to know that," said West Virginia coach Neal Brown, whose Mountaineers have won three consecutive meetings with Pitt. "Man, we've got not only a game to look forward to but it's a rivalry game that's going to be in prime time. We're not playing on so-called Week 0, but we are the premier Power Five game versus a Power Five opponent on Thursday night, and our guys are excited." Pitt won the ACC and went 11-3 last season, and the program is going all in this season to take the next step. We like Pitt here to cover the number and get off to a good start this campaign. Panthers are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. Panthers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 nonconference games. Free College Football Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take #153 Illinois (+3) over Indiana (9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2)
Illinois looked great in Week 0. And although Indiana is better than Wyoming, the running game of the Fighting Illini will be enough. We can't pass up an opportunity to get a better team with points. Illinois is better on the defensive side of the ball, and their aforementioned rushing attack will make it so they win this game outright. Indiana has nothing to be too wary about, so the underdog is the play in this one. Take the points here as the Fighting Illini are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall while Indiana is 0-5 ATS in their last five home games. Free MLB Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take #913 Philadelphia over San Francisco (10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2)
The Phillies have a good team this year, and these are the kinds of games they're winning. At 72-56, they're in a prime position to pick up a wild card spot. Look for a gutsy game out of them and more runs than are usually scored in night games in San Francisco. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card, as we go for 5 straight winning football weekends to open the 2022 season. Our NFLX Game of the Year was a winner, and our top play in college football last week as a blowout winner, 63-10. Sign-up now and let 51 years of handicapping experience work for you. Free College Football Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take #175 Colorado State (+30.5) over Michigan (Noon, Saturday, Sept. 3)
Michigan was the talk of College Football last year, but the Wolverines lost tons of talent to the NFL, and I believe this number is way too high. Colorado St ended last year losing 6-Straight, but I see this Rams team better than last year and I see the Wolverines winning this game by 26 points or less. Really curious on how this Michigan defense will play not only in this game but from the beginning of the season, because again there is tons of new faces on the 'D' side. Free College Football Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take #209 Oregon (+17) over Georgia (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3)
It was a solid win here last week with the Yankees, and I am now 30-15 (67%) with my free plays in this space over the last 45 weeks. My goal is to hit over 60 percent for a full year with these free predictions. This feels like too many points for Georgia to lay out. It’s never a bad idea to fade a defending champion in their first regular season game of any sport. This holds true for defending national champs in college football as well. As everyone not named “Alabama” usually has to knock off some rust and avoid a letdown in their first game the following season. The Bulldogs lost 15 players to the NFL draft. They had an all-time great college defense that lost nine starters. Sure, there is plenty of talent to replenish the two-deep. But this year’s Bulldogs lack experience at some key places. They will be fine. And they will win this game. But are they going to blow Oregon out? I don’t know about that. This Ducks team has 15 starters back from a group that rolled into Columbus and beat Ohio State last year. New quarterback Bo Nix is an SEC import and has played in and won big games at Auburn. And new Oregon head coach Dan Lanning used to be the defensive coordinator at Georgia, so he knows everything that makes the Bulldogs offense uncomfortable. I think that Oregon is good enough to test the Dawgs in this one, and I think the points will hold up in a 31-18 game. Free College Football Prediction From Doug Upstone:
Take #167 BYU (-12) over South Florida (4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3)
Both these teams return a lot of experience to start 2022. BYU has eight starters back on offense, led by QB Jaren Hall, who makes smart throws and decisions with the pigskin. The Cougars' defense brings back all 11 starters, and they should be much improved after being in the 70s nationally in passing, rushing and total defense. South Florida improved to 4-8 last season and has nine starters back on both sides of the ball. The Bulls’ experience will help but they were 102nd in total offense and 123rd a year ago. Coach Jeff Scott is doing a good job improving the overall roster, and they have more speed if not a lot of quality football players. Having former Baylor QB Gerry Bohanon will help the offense with his experience and poise. BYU is coming off consecutive double-digit win seasons, and coach Kalani Sitake has turned this back into a Top 20 program. The heat could be a factor for BYU, but if they control the ball as expected and don’t allow too many big plays, they should win by 15 or more. Free College Football Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take #158 Michigan State (-23) over Western Michigan (7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3)
The Michigan State Spartans were one of the biggest surprise teams in college football last season, posting an unexpected 11-2 record overall. It's year number three under head coach Mel Tucker, and he looks to be building a solid program in East Lansing after MSU was a combined 16-17 overall in the previous three seasons combined before last year. The Spartans return 9 starters this season on the defensive side of the football and also have a returning starter back behind center this year as well in QB Payton Thorne leading their offense. On the other side of things, Western Michigan 6th year head coach Tim Lester has put up a .500 or better record in each of his first five seasons in Kalamazoo. That streak looks to me like it could be in jeopardy this season as the Broncos lost a ton of talent from last year's 8-5 squad, including one of the best quarterbacks in school history in Kaleb Eleby, a guy who averaged 254 yards passing per game in his career. WMU haven't seen much success under Lester when going up against a Big Ten foe, losing all four regular season games against them (all opponents were either Michigan or Michigan State) as the Broncos not only went 0-4 straight up but they were also 0-4 against the spread against the Big Ten losing by an average of 32 points per game. The Broncos weren't close either in those games as they fell on average more than two touchdowns per game below their point spread expectation in those four contests. What makes things even more alarming for Western Michigan here is this year’s version of the Broncos appear to be easily their worst one since Lester took over in 2017. Lay the points here with Michigan State. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Free College Football Prediction From Allen Eastman:
Take #914 Western Kentucky (-15.5) over Hawaii (11:59 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3)
Hawaii just lost 63-10 against Vanderbilt! It should be another blowout loss in this one and it is going to be a long season for Hawaii. Former star Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang is trying to rebuild the program. He has a long way to go. Western Kentucky is coming off a great season in which they made it to the CUSA championship game and blew out Appalachian State in a bowl game. WKU had an unimpressive start to the season last week with just a 38-27 win over Austin Peay as a 32-point favorite. I expect more out of the Hilltoppers offense and they should not have a problem moving the ball against this Hawaii defense. WKU is 5-1 ATS in its last six games against a team with a losing record and 6-2 ATS in its last eight games overall. Hawaii is just 16-33 ATS in its last 49 home games and has one of the most overrated home field advantages in college football. They are just 7-14 ATS in their last 21 games in September. Take Western Kentucky. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports, sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here.
