Free College Football Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take #185 Texas (-4.5) over TCU (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 2)
It was another easy winner in this space last week with Boston College pulling the outright win over Missouri as a home underdog. This week I’ll go the opposite way and dial up a road favorite. TCU was an absolute no show last week against SMU. The Horned Frogs defense was pathetic, allowing 350 yards rushing and 245 yards passing to an AAC opponent. That came one week after they surrendered 440 yards to a putrid Cal offense, and I think that Texas is going to run through the Horned Frogs again here. Texas hung 70 points on Texas Tech, and they have racked up 128 points and nearly 1,300 yards of offense the last two weeks. Sure, that came against inferior competition. But TCU hasn’t exactly been playing world-beaters. The Longhorns have double-revenge after falling to their in-state rivals the last two seasons, and TCU is just 11-27 ATS in its last 28 games. I expect another back-and-forth, defense-optional Big 12 game. But one that Texas will escape with a 10-point win. Free College Football Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take 'Over' 71.5 Duke at North Carolina (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 2)
I know this a big number, but I thought the oddsmaker would post this total around 74-75. Last year, North Carolina scored 56 points on the road against Duke, beating them 56-24, and that total flew over. I see both teams scoring TDs on Saturday. Duke has cashed 3-Straight 'Over' games this year, and they are coming off a big win over Kansas, winning 52-33. UNC has also cashed 3-Straight 'Over' games, and in their last two home games they have averaged 59 ppg. Let's throw in that Duke is 6-2 O/U against conference games, and UNC is 5-1 O/U as a home favorite. Free College Football Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take ‘Under’ 53.0 Washington State at Cal (5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2)
The Cougars beat the Golden Bears 33-20 back in 2019, which was the last time these two programs met, and that is right where this total opened, at 53. The Cougars did beat the Golden Bears 56-21 back in 2016, which was the only real shootout in the last four meetings. However, in 2017 and 2018, both games went well under this total. We see that type of game here again. Keep in mind that Washington State is returning 10 starters on defense and Cal returns 9, so both defensive squads have experience and continuity. Also keep in mind that Utah and USC both held Washington State to 14 points, and Nevada held Cal to 17 points, so neither offense is electric. The under is 5-1 in Golden Bears last 6 games as a home favorite, and the under is 19-7 in Golden Bears last 26 games overall. At the end of the day, we think this is a defensive in conference battle and likely to go under the posted total on Saturday. Free College Football Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take #177 Baylor (+3.5) over Oklahoma State (7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2)
This is a marquee matchup between two undefeated teams ready to move to 5-0 on the year. Baylor has been undervalued, in our opinion, and we are jumping all over them. The Baylor Bears offense should have little trouble with the Oklahoma State defense, and to be honest we see the Cowboys needing a near perfect game to cover in this matchup. The Cowboys are a strong team, there is no doubt about that, but Baylor is just as good. Spenser Sanders is completing less than 59 percent of his passes, and he will need to be much better than that to win this game. We just don't see that happening. Take the points in this one. Free College Football Prediction From Allen Eastman:
Take #252 Atlanta (+1) over Washington (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3)
I will go with the home underdog in this one. The Falcons have been outstanding in this role, going 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games as a home underdog. Atlanta showed a lot of grit last week. They were able to come from behind in New York and get their first win of the season, and Atlanta is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record. Washington was blown out last week in Buffalo. Their defense has been terrible to start the season after being such a strength last season. Last week’s loss came after their lucky win over the Giants in Week 2 thanks to a last-second offsides penalty. The Football Team does not deserve to be a road favorite. They are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite and 1-4 ATS as a road favorite. Washington is 8-21 ATS after a loss and will take another loss here. Free NFL Football Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take #254 Chicago (-3) over Detroit (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3)
The Detroit Lions are off to a 0-3 start to the year, but the betting public seems to like this team some as they have covered the spread in 2 of those first 3 contests. A deeper look, though, shows they are a bit of a fraud at 2-1 ATS. The Lions had no business covering the spread in their season opener against San Francisco as they trailed by 24 points late in the 4th quarter but scored a couple late TD's against a prevent defense and caught a lucky break on an onside kick also. Detroit seemed to play above their heads against the Packers the following week, but sadly they were still soundly beaten by 18 points in that game. Last weekend, the Lions had the game won against Baltimore before the Ravens kicked an NFL record 66-yard field goal to beat them. However, a closer look at that one shows the Lions were actually out-gained by a large 2 yards per play differential and they trailed the entire game as well until the last minute of the contest. Chicago comes in off an ugly outing last Sunday, but that game was on the road with a rookie QB making his first career start and was up against a quality Cleveland Browns squad. The Bears have played a very difficult schedule thus far as their opponents are 5-1 in their other games this year. Most forget this was a playoff team last year, and this line is saying they are even on a neutral field with the Lions, which I think isn't close to true. We are getting good line value with the Bears in this one as this line was closer in the 5-point range just a week ago in the look ahead numbers. Lay the points here with Chicago in this one. Free NFL Football Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take #276 Green Bay (-6.5) over Pittsburgh (4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3) Pittsburgh just does not have any answers on offense, and Green Bay is coming off their best defensive performance of the season. The Steelers cannot run the ball whatsoever, and they will struggle in this game as well. Green Bay has the offense that can attack this strong Pittsburgh defense, and I am just not sure the Steelers will be able to keep up in scoring. Pittsburgh is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games. Green Bay is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after producing more than 350 total yards in their previous game. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend football card, including top play winners on both Saturday and Sunday. Get all of our football plays with a one-week package for just $99.
