Niagara got off to a slow start to this season, but I think that they are going to pick up the pace here. The Broncs lost as much talent as any team in the Metro during the offseason, and they have flipped and flopped around to a 2-7 SU record. They lost by 16 at Fairfield last Saturday, and each of their last five losses have all been by eight points or more. The favorite has covered seven of the last nine meetings between these two teams, and I don’t see a scenario where this one isn’t a blowout. As for this game, the Rams have gone ‘under’ in four straight games and eight of their last 10 games. The Rams have the No. 1 defense in the NFL this year. They are No. 1 in pass defense and have allowed only 18.5 points per game, which was No. 1 in the league. Los Angeles is going to be without several key offensive players, and their offense was terrible last week against Arizona. Seattle has gone ‘under’ in seven of their last eight games overall, and their defense is playing better as well. Take First Half #147 Baltimore (-2.5) over Tennessee (1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10)

In the calendar year, Baltimore has lost twice to Tennessee at home and now is favored on the road at Nissan Stadium. Since giving up 42 points to Cleveland, the Ravens are playing stifling defense, holding their last three opponents to only 10 points a contest. Tennessee’s defense has been the opposite, permitting 78 points in their past two contests. Granted, Green Bay and Houston’s quarterbacks are far more formidable than what Baltimore has taken on from Jacksonville, Cincinnati and the Giants. At least the Titans managed to beat Deshaun Watson and the Texans 41-38 to win the AFC South. When melding how both have played recently, for a first-half wager, we will look to Play On favorites of 2 to 6 points like Baltimore, after allowing 17 points or fewer in three straight games, against an opponent after a win by six or fewer points. Take 'Under' 48.0 Chicago at New Orleans (4:40 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10)

The New Orleans Saints have the reputation of being a high scoring team but that's not really the case and instead it's the defense that's the strength of this team. The Saints rank 2nd best in defensive DVOA and 7th in offense, they are 4th in yards per game allowed on defense and 12th in yards per game offensively. They will be without their best offensive weapon in Alvin Kamara in this one and they were already missing their top wide receiver. They face a Chicago Bears team who's lost two starting offensive lineman to season ending injuries. The Bears offense went through a four game stretch late in the season which inflated their offensive numbers as they averaged 35 points per game overall. However, keep in mind 3 of those 4 games were against teams ranked in the bottom 3 spots in defensive DVOA. Chicago went up against 7 playoff teams this season and averaged just 17 points per game in those contests, a full 10 points fewer than when they faced a non-playoff team. These two teams also faced each other back on November 1st and they scored a combined 46 points in regulation time. The big eye opener, though, is the fact that game had a game total of just 41 points, which was their lowest over/under of the season and a full touchdown lower than this game here. This Over/Under for the National Championship game is 75.5 points, and whoever wins this game I believe gets close to the half of the century mark. Ohio St scored 49 points against the Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide and score quickly and often. Alabama averaged 49.7 ppg this year.
