Charlie Morton and Ross Stripling start here on Thursday morning in Atlanta. Both of them are off to disappointing starts this season. Stripling has pitched twice in Atlanta, once in the old ballpark, and once in the new one, and got lit up both times. Morton has not fared well this year at home with an ERA of 5.09 and a 1.48 WHIP. That will probably equal a lot of runs early on for both sides. These two teams are both top 8 in Slugging Percentage, and 1st and 2nd in MLB in home runs! Anthony DeSclafani has been quietly having a great year, posting a 2.40 ERA with a 3.6-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. He already has a complete game shutout and has allowed one or fewer runs in four of his six starts. The Giants are 22-14, and they look like the real deal. Pittsburgh is banged up right now and looks like one of the worst teams in the N.L. I think the Giants are going to keep punching out W’s and will get this series opener.
