ARUN SHIVA is on a blistering run in soccer, going 5-0 for +1,400 and posting a 19-6 goal differential during those games. Take Sporting Braga -0.5 (-160) over Santa Clara. (2 p.m., Friday, June 5)

This bet is from Portugal. For this to win, Sporting Braga must win by 1 or more goals in regulation + injury time. Portugal kicks back off this weekend as more and more European leagues restart their seasons after more than two months off. This is a great first match back for Sporting Braga as they sit in third place and in control of one of the two Europa League places with a four-point lead over Sporting CP. It is unlikely this side will be able to make up their 14-point gap between them and second place Benfica for one of the two Champions League spots, but there is a ton of soccer to be played in Portugal. Sporting look to make it three wins in a row and four for their last five with their only losses coming in the Europa League against Scottish side Rangers. In the Primeira Liga, they have won four in a row and are unbeaten in their last ten matches, winning nine and drawing one and away from home they have won five in a row. Their host, Santa Clara, is in tenth place and 16 points back of Sporting. They are winless in their last three matches having lost back to back before a 1-1 draw at ninth place Gil Vicente in March. Santa Clara have lost six of their last eight home matches including a 2-0 lost to league leaders Porto in their last home match. As for this one, Schalke has gone completely off the rails. At one point in this season this team was a contender and a surprise threat for the Champions League slot. Since mid-January, they have gone 1-8-4! It’s not just that they haven’t won since their return from break; it is how clueless they have looked. They’ve been outscored 10-1 and they have taken losses from Dusseldorf and Werder Bremen, two teams trying desperately to stave off relegation. This team looks lost. Union Berlin hasn’t been much better. But they have had a tough schedule and they have been better offensively than their goal totals show. I would also play the Draw (+215) on this match for three-way betting. Then the only way you can lose if Schalke snaps out of it and gets just their second win in five months.
