This play is from the Golden Gate Racetrack. After a long layoff because of the coronavirus, horse racing is back at Golden Gate Fields. For this race, we are looking at the favorite Odessa, who has the best speed in the field with recent Beyer Speed Figures of 62-64-56. For the second spot, let’s go with Say It With Roses, who has cashed four tickets in six tries of late and figures to be a factor. To close out my choices, it is Moonshine Annie, who had a decent speed number of 58 in the last start and a 66 two races prior to that outing, and his preference is to run on the turf just like this race. We have soccer back in one of the Top Five leagues in Europe this weekend. You have three verses eight in one of the opening return matches, and we expect these two to lack match fitness, as defense will likely prevail. RB Leipzig played their last match on March 10 in the Champions League, a 3-0 win at home over Tottenham from England. This extended RB’s unbeaten run to seven matches. However, this side has only one match during that seven-match run that has hit 4 or more goals and twice hitting 3 exactly. They play a side that bounced back from a three-match winless run with a 3-1 home win over 11th place Union Berlin. However, their previous four matches all hit 2 goals or fewer. Freiburg has played the top teams on the road well with a 1-0 loss at second place Dortmund and a 2-1 loss at Borussia M’gladbach. These two have played four straight matches that have hit 3 goals, this was during the normal run of the season. This first weekend back we expect to see a similar outcome you see from the last match of a season where players are tired and running out of fitness. They really have only been training for a few weeks, so expect a very different speed than normal.
