ROBERT FERRINGO is looking for a bounce back weekend after two brutal soccer beats on big plays last week. We cashed in with Union Berlin last weekend in this space, and I’m looking to do so again here. Wolfsburg has been one of the most impressive second-tier teams since the restart. They’ve posted three wins, including a dominating 4-1 win over Leverkusen, and the lone loss was a competitive matchup with Dortmund. I think they will keep it going here at home. Freiburg is coming off a big-time upset over M’Bach their last time out, and I think they are in a letdown spot here after bigger matches at home against M’Bach and Leverkusen. Now they are on the road against a team that has been playing to good form. This is a crucial match in the battle for sixth place. The No. 6 team qualifies for the Europa League, so there is plenty on the line. I’ll go with the team that’s been more impressive recently. Take Wolfsburg and jump on the ‘under’ as well. This is a big spot for Hertha Berlin as they are making a run at qualifying for the Europa League. Frankfurt, on the other hand, doesn't have nearly as much to play for. This may seem odd as only three-points separate the two sides in the Bundesliga table, but Hertha just seems hungrier. Since play resumed, Frankfurt have gotten outscored 14-9, while Hertha have outscored their opponents 11-3. Eintracht Frankfurt sit comfortably clear of the relegation zone and will play this match for a draw and the single point. This isn't enough for Berlin, however, as they need and desperately want the three points. Look for Frankfurt to park the bus, but in the end give up a goal to the Berlin pressure. The Grizzlies have been one of the biggest surprise teams before the world was turned upside down, and I see the Grizzles taking the 8th seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. I would also wait because I see this line continuing to drop, and it wouldn't shock me to see this number go as low as -160. The Pittsburgh Steelers have failed to make the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. Last year was a forgivable wash, losing QB Ben Roethlisberger before they knew what hit them. And while the team somehow stood 8-5 SU after 13 games, they lost their final three contests and tee-time arrived early. Big Ben is back, and he'll lead the troops against a manageable home schedule that could very well lead to 7 wins in 8 games. Defensively, the Steelers are young but talented, and having Minkah Fitzpatrick certainly helps. The Steelers were stout against both the run and pass in 2019 and finished #1 in the NFL in weighted defense. Finally, with Big Ben behind center, the rest of the offense needs only be slightly above average for Pittsburgh to return to the postseason.
