Instead, I’ll take a 6-1 shot to head to the winner’s circle in Rosa Star, who has improved each time out based on Beyer Speed Figures of 63-66-73. For the second slot, let’s go with I Am Magical from Great Britain, who before last race had two sharp trips of 75-76. For third, it will be Tide Storm, who has renowned jockey, L. Take #54 Borussia Dortmund (-125) over Wolfsburg (9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23)

Who looked better than Borussia Dortmund last weekend in the German Bundesliga? The answer is no one. They plowed through rival Schalke 4-0 in a match that wasn’t even as close as the blowout score suggests. I think that they will absolutely keep that one going. Wolfsburg was able to steal a win over a weak Augsburg squad with a goal in the 91st minute (extra time). I absolutely don’t expect that momentum to carry over on the road against one of the top teams in the table. I do expect a lower scoring game, as Wolfsburg’s defense is one of the best in the league. But Dortmund was on a tear prior to the hiatus and they picked up where they left off last weekend. Dortmund is undefeated in the last nine meetings in this series, and I think that this is a more than reasonable price on a top tier side in Germany. Give me Dortmund. Take ‘Over’ 2.5 Mainz 05 vs. RB Leipzig. (9:30 a.m., Sunday, May 24)

This is another one of those huge disparities within the weekend match ups in Germany. RB Leipzig has burst on the scene over the last few years powered by Red Bull money and have shown that history can be overcome by money. However, their return to play last weekend saw them need a 77th minute goal to rescue a point from seventh place Freiburg in a 1-1 draw at home. Leipzig used only three of their five allotted subs in this first match back without fans; we expect a different game plan as they face 15th place Maine on Sunday with a second match in three days on Wednesday against 11th place Hertha. Leipzig have now gone eight without a loss but are only holding onto fourth place by a single point over Bayer Leverkusen, who won 4-1 on Monday. They head out on the road where they have gone 2-0-2 in their last four matches but have back to back losses to Eintracht Frankfurt who are in 13th place before that. Take the last match as a warm up for Leipzig as they may have been looking ahead a bit. They now face a side with a ton of confidence after overcoming a 2-0 first half deficit to draw 2-2 in a match they could have won. Mainz are now unbeaten in three both overall and at home. They have not played the top seven well this season, their back line struggled at the start of the match, but they saved the day as the match wore on. There could be revenge on hand after Leipzig won 8-0 in their last meeting. However, Mainz has held their own at home, drawing 3-3 last season and winning 3-0 in 2018. All seven of their previous meetings have hit 3 goals or more, with six hitting 4 or more goals. Take Houston Texans ‘Under’ 8.0 Wins (-120)

The schedule isn't overly difficult overall, thanks in part to playing in a mediocre division. However, the schedule is overloaded out of the gate. The Texans first four games include a season opening road game at Kansas City, followed by a home game against the Baltimore Ravens. If that's not enough, the Texans head to Pittsburgh in  Week 3 before hosting the Vikings in  Week 4. The Texans are a team with a fragile psyche going into the season, and a rough start could every well mean they do not recover to take advantage of a mediocre division. The off-season was not a good one for the Texans, starting at the top with HC Bill O'Brien. Not only did the organization go through the fiasco that included the trading of DeAndre Hopkins, but also there have been reports of ongoing factions in the locker room. Rumors abound regarding the soured relationship between O'Brien and his QB Deshaun Watson, not to mention J.J. Watt being used as trade-bait before the draft. Speaking of the draft, Houston left plenty to be desired in my opinion, rating a "C" grade. Add it up and I have Houston dropping from a 10-win team in 2019 to a 7-win team in 2020.
