This is not exactly a newsworthy selection, but one that certainly feels like where you can pick up easy money, much like picking the New England Patriots to win the AFC East, just with better odds. We saw back in Maui the day before Thanksgiving that the Flyers might be a really good club when they took Kansas to OT before falling in the title game. Dayton is 29-2 and 19-12 ATS, which includes 18-0 and 11-7 ATS in conference play, winning their A-10 affairs by 14 PPG. Chances are you are not going to see many reasonable numbers on the Flyers from oddsmakers. As we know, not every top-seed advances to the Big Dance, but with what Dayton has at stake in trying to be a No. 1 seed, hard to imagine they would let up. I just picked up a winner on an East Tennessee State wager to win the Southern Conference, and I see the same type of scenario with Dayton, currently at around -140 odds to win the Atlantic 10. Prepare for The Madness! This is one of the wildest weeks on the betting calendar and has severe boom or bust potential. I am laser focused and ready to continue my +5,500 run on the hardwood. I think Akron is going to show once again why they are the best team in the MAC. Ohio is coming off perhaps its best game of the year. They won a home conference tournament game against a feeble Central Michigan team by 20 points. But here's the thing: I don't think Ohio is going to shoot 57 percent from the field and nearly 50 percent from 3-point range (10-for-21). And they shouldn't count on their opponent going 3-for-24 (12 percent) from deep. Seven of Ohio's top 10 players are freshmen and sophomores. VCU is one of the most banged up teams in the country right now. They have dealt with a lot of injuries down the stretch, and they are nowhere near full strength. It looks like the Rams will be without starters De'Riante Jenkins and Issac Vann, along with key bench players Vince Williams and Corey Douglas. VCU is just 1-7 SU and ATS in its last eight games and has been terrible down the stretch, including an eight-point road loss at UMass.
