Take 'Over' 45.0 Philadelphia at Green Bay (8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20)

Big-time winning football weekend last week thanks to a sensational +2,180 that we banked on Sunday and Monday in the NFL. I nailed my 7-Unit NFL Play with ease (Carolina-Arizona 'over'), and this week I'm looking at a potential 8-Unit NFL Top Play of the Season. Let's keep the momentum going with this totals play here. The 'over' was the play last week in the NFL, with 11 of 16 games going 'over'. I think that is going to continue. The Packers offense is going to figure it out at some point. Aaron Rodgers has faced three really difficult defenses to start the season, and Green Bay has increased its production each week. The Eagles defense has been a mess, allowing at least 24 points in all three games and giving up an average of 26.3. The Eagles offense is a bit banged up but still potent. They left a lot of points on the field last week and still got to 24. There have been an average of 51.3 combined points in each of Philadelphia's three games, and I don't see why facing a Rodgers-led offense would make that easier. Green Bay's defense has gotten off to a great start. Bu they are still allowing 131 rushing yards per game, and Philadelphia has some playmakers in the backfield. The 'over' is 35-17 in their last 52 games after a loss and 4-1 in Philadelphia's last five Thursday night games. The 'over' is 16-5 in Green Bay's last 21 games against a team with a losing record. Iowa is back to playing a week after facing in-state rival Iowa State and squeezing out an 18-17 victory. This week they will face a Middle Tennessee club that has struggled on defense in permitting 40 or more points twice and is 3-0 to the Over. Despite this, I'll say Iowa's defense comes to play and looks to tighten various aspects of their game, and coach Kirk Ferentz is no longer one to run up scores. Kansas State is ranked No. 2 in the nation on defense against the pass, 9th overall (13th in points allowed per game at 12 ppg) and a decent ranked offense at 42nd in total yards. I will take K State here PLUS THE POINTS in a tight one, and bear in mind Kansas State's defense is better in holding teams to 256 yards per game YTD and the Wildcats also have the best QB in this game in dual-threat Thompson, who had zero picks this year to date. Anderson has an ERA of just 1.93 in his last 3 starts with opponents hitting just .143 against him, and he allowed just 2 earned runs in his last start against Cincinnati over 5.2 innings.
