Take Iowa State (-3.5) over Iowa (8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12)

The plan is to continue to pound the sportsbooks with my basketball and football services this week as my holiday assault continues. I am up +11,200 in all sports combined over the last month, and that includes a +5,400 NBA run, a +5,000 college hoops run and a +3,400 football run. In regards to this pick, home court has meant everything in this series. The home team has won eight of the last nine meetings and is an incredible 14-2 straight up in the last 16 meetings. Iowa hasn't won in Ames in in 17 years! I don't see it happening here. Iowa is coming off a blowout win over Minnesota. They also have nice wins over a bad Syracuse team and an overrated Texas Tech team. On paper, those look like three big wins, but they really aren't that impressive and maybe none of those teams will be in the NCAA Tournament come March. Iowa State just dominated Seton Hall earlier this week, and they could be on a rush. This team is completely different on its home court, and none of their games in Ames have been close this year. This will be a close game. It wouldn't stun me if someone came back from a double-digit deficit at some point in this game. But I think that Iowa State is the better team, and I'll defer to nearly 20 years of results in this series that suggest that the home team is the play. In the Ravens last 7 home games, 5 of them have gone 'Under,' and Thursday night I see the Ravens winning 30-7. They have pulled off some impressive wins as of late, taking down top tier teams like the Jets, Oilers, and Islanders. The Ducks came out red hot out of the gate but have really struggled lately and their offense has been a big issue with no consistent scoring. I like the Kings to come out motivated here and grabbing a win to start out their road trip. Ducks are 2-7 in their last 9 vs. Western Conference. Ducks are 3-12 in their last 15 overall. As per your selection on Colorado, we recognize this is a bit of a chalky pick, but there's nothing wrong with cashing a ticket. The Avs are clearly the better team and will come into this game likely having won 7 of their last eight games and face an NJ team that's likely lost five or six straight games, depending on how their game on Tuesday goes vs Dallas. The Avalanche simply have too much offensive firepower for the Devils to contain, especially since the Devils haven't gotten any good goaltending to write home about. This game is going to be a bit higher scoring than people think. Don't be surprised at all to see Navy hit 30 points by themselves in this one. Navy can be beaten in the air, and we know that Army struggles to do that, but they will hit some big plays just running their regular offense. This game has a 31-17 type feel to it and will cash the 'over' quite easily. Navy averaged 41 points per game throughout the month of November. Take #323 Jacksonville (+6.5) over Oakland (4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15)

I posted another winning football week last week. I plan on doing it again this week. I will have a 7-Unit NFL 411 Play on Sunday, and my NFL 411 System has shown a profit so far this season. As for this play, I see the Jaguars getting this win. This is Oakland's last home game of the season, and this is the Raiders' last ever game in Oakland. I don't think that they will have much crowd support. I also think that the final home game will be a distraction for the players and the coaches. Oakland has been blown out by at least three touchdowns in each of their last three games. They are without Josh Jacobs, who looked like he was going to be the rookie of the year. Injuries have really beaten down this Raiders team, and they are just 17-35 ATS as a favorite. Oakland is 0-4 ATS in their last four games and are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games in December. Take #325 Cleveland (-2.5) over Arizona (4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15)

Despite winning and covering against Cincinnati at home in the battle of Ohio, Cleveland was outgained by the lowly Bengals by 118 yards. Normally, that would be a real cause for concern for an ordinary team like the Browns having to go on the road. However, in this instance it is not and here is why. In the second half of the season, Play On favorites like Cleveland who gain 335 to 370 yards per game against an average offensive team (295-335 YPG), after being outgained by 100 or more total yards in last contest. Going back to 2010, teams like the Brownies are a super 24-5 ATS in this exact spot (11-0 ATS more recently), winning by 8.9 PPG.
