INDIAN COWBOY has posted a profit in March Madness five straight years, going 87-60 for +13,700. IC is excited about the NBA playoffs, and he has posted a profit five of the last six seasons for over +$12,500. IC is on a 3-0 NHL run for +$1,500, including an 8-Unit Selection on Monday (Nashville over Minnesota). The Cowboy is excited about the MLB season as well. Is anyone else as thrilled to have baseball back as I am? Spring is here! Summer is around the corner! And it is time to bang the books on the diamond. I had another winning season in 2018, and that is now back-to-back winning years and four of five winning seasons. Let's get right after it here in an N.L. East rivalry. Brooks Wilson just had his 23rd birthday two weeks ago, and now he is ready to make his Major League debut. This is a guy that the Braves just grabbed last June, and he has never pitched above Class-A ball. I don't care how he looked in Spring Training; he is going to get his ass lit up in Philadelphia. This is an intimidating venue against a hungry, fired up Phillies lineup. Brooks threw all of 13 innings this spring, so excuse me if I don't think he's up to it. In fact, he allowed three home runs in his 13 innings and now he's throwing in a bandbox up in Philly. Nick Pivetta was real sharp this spring, and he is now entering his third season. He has had a lot of success against the Braves, going 5-2 with a 2.87 ERA and holding Ronald Acuna and Fred Freeman to a combined 4-for-26. I think the Phils will pound Brooks early, and Pivetta will be good enough to make it hold up. Take #670 Duke (-7.5) over Virginia Tech (9:30 p.m., Friday, March 29)

Duke got their scare on Sunday, and I expect them to make the Final Four with a double-digit victory in the Sweet 16. Virginia Tech beat Duke earlier this season, but I just do not believe the Hokies can score enough points to stay with Duke in a 40-minute game with Zion Williams healthy. The Hokies have had a very easy draw thus far, and that changes in a big way on Friday. There will not be any carryover effect in this game as Duke marches onto the Elite 8. Robbie Ray is the listed pitcher and has looked great this preseason and is primed for a solid break out year. In his last preseason, Ray allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 11 over 5.1 innings Saturday against the Giants. He will go up against Ross Stripling, who limited the Angels to one run over three innings in Sunday's 8-4 exhibition loss, scattering three hits and one walk and striking out none. Dodgers have seen key offensive pieces leave as well and added an aging Russel Martin to replace the offense of Grandal, while adding Pollock to replace Puig, Kemp, Machado, and Dozier, to name a few. We look for runs to be at a premium as two different looking offenses face off in one of the toughest hitting parks in the NL, which is why we like the under. Free MLB Baseball Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo :

Take New York Mets 'Under' 85.5 Wins

This is the Mets we are talking about! This has been one of the worst organizations in baseball. Last year this team got off to the best start in franchise history, and they were 11-1 two weeks into the season. They still didn't even finish at .500! The Mets won 77 games last year and 70 games the year before that. They made a lot of moves this offseason, but I don't know if those moves necessarily made this team better. The Mets went out and traded for 36-year-old Robinson Cano. New York has always had a habit of getting big-name players when they are washed up, and that's what it looks like with Cano, who will be playing in the National League for the first time. The Mets have had to deal with a lot of injuries the past three years, but that is because they have continued to rely on injury prone players like Yoenis Cespedes, who won't be back until midseason. The Phillies improved mightily this offseason, and they are one of the favorites to win the East. The Nationals still have a dominating pitching staff, and they will be in the hunt as well. The Braves were the best team in the East last year, and they are loaded with prime young talent. The Mets look like they are the fourth-best team in the East right now, and I thought that even putting their season win total around 81.5 would be generous. The Mets have won fewer than 80 games eight times in the last 10 years. They are consistent losers. That's who they are. And I don't see enough upgrades on this roster to feel confident that they are going to threaten 90 wins. This is an easy 'under' call for me.
