ROBERT FERRINGO has been cleaning up on college basketball’s biggest betting day, racking up four straight winning Saturdays for over +$4,100 in profit. Take #618 Iowa (+6) over Michigan State (7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24)

This is a very difficult spot for the Michigan State Spartans, as they have to go on the road here into Carver Hawkeye Arena, which has one of the top home court edges in all of CBB for the Iowa Hawkeyes. MSU won by just 3 points last year in Iowa in a game they were favored to win by 10 points and the time before that they lost by 13 points to the Hawkeyes. This also is the classic look ahead spot for the Spartans as they play at Purdue this coming Sunday in a big game against a very good Boilermakers team. On the other side of things Iowa has very quietly rattled off five straight wins and all in Big Ten play as well. In terms of this free play, it is pretty obvious that there are two tiers in the Big Sky. Montana, Weber State and Northern Colorado are at the top and then there is just everyone else. Northern Arizona is one of the worst programs in the country. And they haven’t stayed within 13 points of either of the other top teams in the league so I see no reason why they would be able to do it here against Northern Colorado. The Lumberjacks are just 3-11 in their last 14 games and they haven’t beaten a team rated in the Top 250 since mid-November. Northern Colorado has one of the best players in the league in Jordan Davis and this team has really benefitted from the midseason return of Jalen Sanders. The Bears shouldn’t have a problem squeezing out another road win against one of the Big Sky bottom feeders.
