Take 'Under' 2.5 (-125) Belgium vs. England (2 p.m., Thursday, June 28)

I have been on a hell of a run in the World Cup, posting a profit in 11 of 14 matches and, with my futures tickets starting to come through, banking +$4,000 over the last week-plus. I plan on keeping it going with another 7-Unit World Cup Play this week followed by my 8-Unit Game of the Year in the Knockout Round. As for this total, this is really a bizarre situation. Belgium and England have dominated their group and they are both tied right now in absolutely everything related to the tiebreakers. In fact, if these two take a draw in this match then the winner of the group will come down to which team has taken the most yellow cards. And here's the thing: the loser of this match is going to have the easier path in the Knockout Round! The No. 1 team in this group could have to take on Colombia, followed by a potential Brazil-Germany winner in the quarterfinals. The loser of this match could have to play Senegal and then the winner of a Mexico-Switzerland matchup. We saw this play out in the France-Denmark 0-0 draw earlier this week: these two teams don't care about this game, so they will go through the motions and play for a draw. And even if that isn't the case, I have a hard time seeing this as more than a 1-0 game. Both sides have solid defense, and neither team, if they fall behind, is going to be motivated enough to start throwing guys forward and open the game. I can see a somewhat dull game, given the talent on the pitch, and I see this one staying 'under'. Romano lost 2-0 to Milwaukee on April 17, and I think the Brewers will continue their winning ways against the Reds as they have won five of the six matchups this year. Take Chicago Cubs over Minnesota Twins (2 p.m., Saturday, June 30)

When Yu Darvish went to the disabled list, it was an easy decision on who to replace him with. Mike Montgomery has been a great asset for the Cubs both in the rotation and out of the bullpen over the last two years. Before the season began, Montgomery stated that he really prefers to be a starting pitcher. He's proving that this year. Out of the bullpen, Montgomery struggled with a 5.64 ERA in 22.1 innings of work. As a starter, he owns a 2.09 ERA in 38.2 innings. Batters are hitting just .172 against Montgomery as a starter. He'll face a Twins team on Saturday that is clearly underachieving in 2018. I'm not sure why the market was so high on Minnesota, but they are still being priced like they'll get back to respectability. I don't see it. Play the Cubs on Saturday as our Free Play selection.
