The VA Tech defense bounced back from giving up 45 points to Notre Dame to hold the North Carolina Tar Heels to 19 points, and that game stayed under the total. We're laying the points with Penn State on Saturday. Thanks to the PSU recent semi-swoon and Iowa's 6-1 start to the season, we have line value on the Nittany Lions. In fact, I had this number power rated to PSU -11 with my preseason numbers. Obviously, adjustments have to be made as the season progresses, but this is too much of a move. The Hawkeyes have played a pretty soft schedule and even caught Iowa State at the perfect time after ISU's first game of the season had been postponed. Iowa's one loss was a double-digit defeat at the hands of underwhelming Wisconsin. The offense is lethargic, finally finding a ground game last week against Maryland, but the Hawks gained just 310 total yards in the contest. Penn State got back on track last week after a 2-game losing skid, and they enter on a 7-0 ATS run at home against teams with a winning record. Take 'Over' 64.5 Kansas State vs. Oklahoma (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27)

Two teams that have been trending to the over in the spot they are in here will meet when the Kansas St Wildcats hit the road to take on the Oklahoma Sooners at Memorial Stadium in Norman, OK, on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners have posted a perfect 4-0 record to the over in their last four Big 12 games, and they are also a perfect 6-0 to the over in their last six games following a game where they scored 40 points or more. They have also gone up and overt the number in five of their last six games following a straight up win, and they are 7-1 to the over in their last eight games overall going back to the end of the 2017 season. The Wildcats usually play games to the under, but for some reason when they get together with the Sooners the games tend to be either shootouts or blowouts as eight of their last ten head-to-head meetings have gone over the total. Throw in the fact that Oklahoma is 12-5 to the over versus a team with a losing record and that they are 21-8 to the over in their last 29 games played in the month of October, and that's where we'll have our play as we expect both teams to get up and down the field a bit in Norman on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans are winless on the season, but they are facing another hopeless team in UNLV at home on Saturday. The Rebels have lost four straight games, and only Utah State is a decent team that beat them. San Jose State put forth a solid effort last week against San Diego State, losing by just three points on the road. Expect them to carry that over into this Saturday with another strong defensive performance against another team with very little offense. UNLV is without their starting quarterback in Armani Rogers, and they have become easy to defend. The Rebels are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 road games against teams with a losing home record. The Bucs turned the ball over 4 times last week, and now they face a Bengals defense that is good at creating turnovers. The Bucs have averaged 2.5 turnovers per game this season, and the Bengals have only turned the ball over 1 time at home this season. You can expect this Bengals offense to get a boost against a terrible Bucs defense, and you can also expect the Bengals to win the turnover battle, which creates a golden opportunity for the Bengals to get a big win at home Sunday. The Bucs are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games on the road and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games after failing to cover the spread in their previous game. We had a monster football weekend last week, banking nearly +$3,000 in profit, and I am going to keep it rolling this week. I am posting an 8-Unit College Football Game of the Year on Saturday, and I won my only other 8-Unit Football Play this year with Atlanta taking down Carolina in Week 2 of the NFL. I've waited patiently for another big spot like this, and I am going on the attack this weekend. As for this free play, I think the wrong team is favored. I think the Cardinals are the worst team in football; including the Bills and the Giants. Arizona was humiliated last Thursday, and now they have star players trying to beg their way out of town via the trade deadline. It's not a good scene. San Francisco outgained Arizona by 227 yards in the first meeting but was done in by five turnovers. Assuming that the 49ers take better care of the ball this week, I think they will manage to get their second win of the season. The 49ers have played one of the toughest schedules in football; and certainly a tougher slate than Arizona. I think that the 49ers will dig deep and finally snap a seven-game losing streak to their division rivals with a double-digit win. Free NHL Hockey Prediction From Doc's Sports :

Take Detroit over Winnipeg (7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26)

The Winnipeg Jets are the better team. There is no mistaking that. But the NHL schedule makers did the Jets no favors in this spot, having them travel to Detroit, the day before playing Toronto in what will be a rematch from their game prior to Detroit on Oct 24. The Wings finally got off the schneid with a 4-3 SO win over Florida and will have a game with Carolina before this one -- a game they can win and boost the confidence even more. The Jets will be a playoff team come April, but the Red Wings likely won't -- but that doesn't mean a bad team can't beat a good team on any given day. The Wings are a team that has a few nice pieces and a goalie that knows how to win in Jimmy Howard but has struggled so far this season. We expect them to come out with a solid effort in this spot at home and we expect the Jets to go through the motions and play down to the level of their opponent, given their schedule and how hard it will be to not look ahead to playing the Leafs on National TV on Hockey Night in Canada. The Wings will likely be a decent size dog in this one, but the value will be there. Take Detroit.
