Take #421 San Diego State (+15) over Fresno State (10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17)

I'm recommending a play on San Diego State plus the points on Saturday night. SDSU fell asleep leading UNLV 24-13 with less than 10 minutes to go in the game, losing 27-24 to the lowly Rebels. The Aztecs, a 24-point favorite, no doubt took UNLV lightly and then watched Lexington Thomas scamper 75 yards for the game-winning TD with 3 minutes to go in the game. HC Rocky Long was beside himself, and we trust he got his point across in practice this week. Fresno State watched their undefeated conference record go by the wayside in Boise, outscored 14-0 in the final quarter of a 24-17 loss to the Broncos. That loss opens the door in the MWC West for SDSU, who's 1 game behind Fresno State and tied with Nevada. SDSU is 5th in the nation against the run and 11th in total yards allowed per game; nothing comes easy against them. At the same time, we expect SDSU to attempt to control the tempo of this game with a ground-and-pound approach. Look for the Aztecs to hang the number. The 'under' is 9-4 in Arizona's last 13 games and 20-7 in their last 27 home games. All the trends point toward the 'under' and I think this one will be low scoring. Take 'Under' 45.5 Minnesota at Chicago (8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18)

Back-to-back easy free play winners after Dallas and Philadelphia went 'over' the total on Sunday night to make last week's selection in this space cash. It was another solid football week overall as we posted our fourth straight profitable weekend (and 5 of 6 winning weeks) behind an 8-Unit NFL Game of the Year blowout with Green Bay. I'm looking for another monster weekend and we will get it started on Thursday night with a top play. In regard to this total, look, I know that the NFL is a different game now and scoring is out of control. But I think that this is going to be an old-school slobber knocker between these two old rivals. This game is going to be played at night in Chicago in below freezing temperatures. These are two of the best defenses in football and two of the most physical teams in the league. They are going to bang heads. The Bears have exploded for 75 points the last two weeks against overmatched opponents. But they aren't going to do that against the Vikings, who have by far the best defense that this team has seen all year. In the last two months only two teams have scored more than 21 points against the Vikings: the Saints and the Rams. The Bears offense isn't nearly as good as those squads. Likewise, the Bears have one of the best defenses in football, and they have held six of eight opponents to 22 or fewer points. I thought that 43.0 would've been a better number for this game, and I still would've liked it 'under', as I see one of these teams being held to 17 or fewer points. The 'under' has hit in seven of the last nine meetings, and I think this one will as well. The Spurs seem down this season, and this team sits at a mediocre 6-6 on the season as of this writing (2-3 ATS on the road). Take Chicago over Los Angeles (8:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16)

I refuse to believe that with all the talent and experience the Blackhawks have, they can continue to play as bad as they've been. Heading into this matchup against the Kings, the Hawks will have lost nine straight or 8 of their last 9 games. Either way, this is a good spot for them to pick up a win against a Kings team that is just as bad, if not worse then them. Not to mention, the Kings will be without both their starting goalie and backup goalie, as both of them are out through injury. The Hawks know they need to perform well in front of their home crown in order to keep the roster intact and potentially save the GM's job. They already got the coach fired, so now they are playing for pride, and that's when a professional athlete is most dangerous when pride is on the line. We look for the Kings to bounce back in a big way at home against a Kings team who will likely be coming off a losing homestand, and then taking to the road for three games in four nights in the Midwest.
