Take Chicago over Cleveland (8 p.m., Thursday, March 30)
The Bulls have owned the Cavs recently and they are 3-0 both SU and ATS against them this season. The Cavs have had a couple nights off heading into this one but we don't think it will matter. This team has lost three of its last four and all were double-digit blowouts. There isn't much doubt that this team will shift into another gear once the playoff starts but things are not right with this squad right now in the stretch run of the NBA regular season. LeBron James is banged up and left the Cavs near-30-point loss to the Spurs last time out. As of this writing his status is uncertain for this game but the line will be adjusted whether he plays or not. We think the Bulls can cover with or without LeBron. Chicago has now won 18 straight TNT games on Thursdays, and they always get up for these matchups. They have also covered in six of their last eight matchups.

Take Portland over Houston (10:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30)
This is a tough spot for the Rockets. This game in Portland, which is already a tough place to play, is sandwiched between a game at home versus Golden State and then another at Golden State tomorrow. This is the second game of a three-games-in-four-nights stretch for the Rockets, and they will let this one slip. Portland has the ability to score the basketball and will have no problem keeping pace with Houston in this one. The home-court advantage will play huge dividends for the Blazers as they try and keep pace with the rest of the playoff-hunting Western Conference teams. Look for the Blazers to get a huge home win in this one.

Take Toronto (-4) over Indiana (7:30 p.m., Friday, March 31)

Take San Antonio over Oklahoma City (9:30 p.m., Friday, March 31)
Take a long hard look at the Spurs this Friday night over the OKC Thunder. The last time these two teams played was when the Spurs lost 92-102 back on March 9 and they will undoubtedly remember that loss. We also like this selection because they likely lose to the Warriors their game prior to this one as they beat Golden State 107-85 the last time they played them so GS has revenge in that game. But per this game, you have a Spurs team that lost by 10 points to a Thunder team that is fickle against elite competition. The Spurs just beat Cleveland by 29 points and Golden State by 22 points not long ago. When this team has revenge, they show up and show up in a big way. Plus, this is the same OKC team that lost by 12 at Houston, lost by 16 to Golden State and 5 to the Blazers at home. Look for the San Antonio to be motivated from start to finish and do very well this this Friday evening.

The Ducks rank 170th in the country for offensive rebounds and 115th in the country for defensive rebounds. Possessions will be the key to this game, and the Tar Heels have averaged 85 points per game this season because of their ability to get second chance baskets while shooting 47.2% as a team. The Tar Heels have out-rebounded their opponents by an average of 14.6 RPG over their last 5 games, and they should have beat the Wildcats by 10+ points but they let them hang around, which will not happen with the time to prepare for the Ducks. Take Nashville (-105) over Minnesota (2 p.m., Saturday, April 1)
The Minnesota Wild are playing their worst hockey of the season and need to get things turned around fast before the playoffs begin in a couple of weeks. Minnesota has notched just three wins since the beginning of March (as of Tuesday) as their defense and goaltending have completely failed them. It's the same team that was flying high for most of the season, but right now the chemistry on the ice isn't there. Meanwhile, the Predators have been on their hottest streak of the season and still have a chance to catch Minnesota in the standings. The Preds are shutting down their opponents and are scoring timely goals when they really need them. Nashville has been sensational at home this season (23-8-7 as of Tuesday), and I think they earn a hard-fought win on Saturday. Take the Predators to get the job done in our Free Play selection. Take Houston Astros 'Over' 90.5 Wins (-125)
I gave out a free futures play on the Rays last week. And if you hurry you can still get down on my 8-Unit and my 5-Unit MLB Futures Plays, both available to my clients right now. Last year my 8-Unit Futures Play was easy money with the Orioles soaring over their 78.0 win total with 89 wins on the season. I expect another winner this season, albeit from a completely different direction. The MLB season starts Sunday, and Opening Day is Monday for the majority of teams, and I am really looking forward to having a monster season on the diamond. The Houston Astros are also expecting a big year. They made some savvy offseason additions, bringing in veteran stabilizers like Carlos Beltran, Brian McCann and Nori Aoki to help settle a clubhouse that is long on talent but short on experience. Now looking at Houston's lineup, which features young studs like Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and George Springer, there isn't a clear weakness. And if Houston can get bounce-back seasons out of some of their top arms, especially ace Dallas Keuchel, then there is nothing stopping the Astros from taking control of the A.L. West. I think that Seattle is going to take a step back after a strong 2016. And I think that Texas will regress after their astonishing record in one-run games (36-11). That should really clear the path for Houston this season, and I think that they can take advantage. The Astros won 86 games in 2015 before a slight dip to 84 wins last season. And now it is time for them to take that leap forward. The Angels and A's are both awful. And the A.L. Central is a mess as well. So there should be plenty of easy W's along the way for this group. Over the last 15 years the winner of the A.L. West has averaged 95.3 wins per season. The division winner has failed to top 91 wins just two times during that stretch. I have Houston winning the West, so I see them sticking true to form and settling in around 94-96 wins this year. Take Oakland A's 'Under' 73 Wins
The American League West may be the best division in baseball this year with three legitimate World Series contenders plus a LA Angels team with the best player in baseball on their team. This leaves the low-budget Oakland A's at the bottom of the pack having to deal with a schedule where they will play nearly half of their games this season against A.L. West foes. Add in interleague games against 3 of the best teams in the National League (NY Mets, Washington and SF Giants), and that makes things extremely difficult for the A's this year. Oakland also ranks in the bottom 4 teams in total team payroll, meaning they more than likely will once again be sellers at the MLB trade deadline this year.
