Esparza is 10-6, +$1,820 this season on football plays rated 5.0 or higher. This weekend he will go with a 7-Unit College Football Play followed by a 5-Unit NFL Play on Sunday, and Esparza is looking for back-to-back winning football weekends. The NHL is in full effect and Esparza is one of the top hockey handicappers in the nation. He has posted 5 of 7 winning NHL years and in 2015-16 he beat the books for an insane +$12,310. Thursday Esparza will have his first big play of the hockey season, a 6-Unit NHL Play. The NBA tipped off on Tuesday, and on Friday night Esparza will release his first 6-Unit Play. Esparza is also on fire with his CFL service and has gone 7-2 for +$3,490 lately. He is on an 11-4, +$4,090 CFL run and will have more this week. Saturday late afternoon is UFC Fight Night 118 in Poland and Esparza will have a 5-Unit Fight on the betting board. Don't forget college basketball is right around the corner, and Esparza is one of the best, most consistent, and most reliable basketball handicappers around. ALAN HARRIS will look to stay hot with his top football selections with a trio of big plays this week on the gridiron. Harris has gone a lights out 18-4 in his CFB selections rated 5-Units and higher, good for a profit of $6,710, and Saturday he has both 7-Unit and 6-Unit plays on tap. He's also following that up with a big 6-Unit NFL Play on Monday night in the NFC East clash between the Redskins and Eagles to complete the big play hat trick. Speaking of hat tricks, the 2017-18 NHL Season is now in full swing and Thursday night Harris will be releasing his 5-Unit NHL Game of the Week. Harris had a winning season on the ice last year and he's expecting to make it back-to-back winning years here. The home team has won the last three meetings and right now what I have seen from the Arkansas State Red Wolves at home covering this big number should be no problem. Arkansas State is coming off an easy home against Coastal Carolina 51-17, and in their last two home games the Red Wolves have only given up a total of 20 points. Lafayette has won two straight games coming into this road game, but both the teams they beat were not the same level as the Red Wolves, and I see the Arkansas State offense being too much for the Ragin' Cajuns to handle. Take #304 Houston (-3) over Memphis (8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19)
I delivered another winning overall football week (5 of 6), another winning NFL week (5 of 6) and another 7-Unit winner on Sunday with the Saints. I have been rock solid so far this football season and I am ready to ramp things up this week with another tight card. As for this free play, I think that Memphis is a soft 5-1. They got slaughtered in their first road game against a comparable team, losing 40-13 at Central Florida. Beyond that they have lucky wins over UCLA and Navy and unimpressive wins against UL-Monroe and Southern Illinois. They are facing a Houston team that has equal talent and that has played well at home. Houston is also in a prime bounce back situation after an embarrassing loss at Tulsa last week. The Cougars were up 10-0 in that game, marching to 17-0, when a turnover changed the tide. They turned it over three times and got rolled in the second half en route to a shocking 45-17 loss. The home team has won three of four meetings, Houston has won six of the last seven meetings, and the Cougars are 4-2 ATS in the last six against the Tigers. Memphis is just 2-10 ATS against teams above .500 and just 2-8 ATS after a win. I don't love this Houston team. But I think this is a good spot for them to make a statement. Take 'Over' 49 Western Kentucky vs. Old Dominion (6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20)
We go for four straight free pick winners after the Syracuse and Clemson 'Under' on last week's newsletter. It would be great to give you a month straight of free pick winners as we love giving you great content on our newsletter. Per this game, Old Dominion is absolutely going to be rocking for this game. Though it sounds silly to get up for Western Kentucky, ODU will do just that. This is an ODU team that needs some quality wins to keep building its program and finds itself nearly as a double-digit home underdog. This team will not be intimidated coming into this game as remember this team played Virginia Tech earlier this year at Tech and lost 0-38 (not bad). They lost 24-59 to this very same Western Kentucky team last year and they have gotten better since then and in particular their offense. However, their offense only put up 3 points against Marshall last week and was grossly inefficient and we expect them to bounce-back with a quality effort this week. Remember, when this team put up just a few points against UMass, in their next game they put up 23 against UNC. Or, when they put up 0 against Va Tech, their next game they put up 28 points against FAU. Hence, look for a decent performance offensively for ODU and in the same token, look for a decent performance from Western Kentucky as they are a top 40 offense. The 'Over' is 4-0 for the Hilltoppers following an ATS win and the 'Over' is 5-0 for the Monarchs of Old Dominion after scoring 20 or less points their previous game. Take 'Over' 71.0 Iowa St. vs. Texas Tech (Noon, Saturday, Oct. 21)
Two teams that have been trending to the over will meet when the Iowa St Cyclones hit the road to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, TX, on Saturday afternoon. The Cyclones have posted a 6-1 record to the over in their last seven games where they faced a team with a winning record and they have gone an excellent 10-2-1 to the over in their last thirteen games following a straight up win. The Red Raiders have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here on Saturday as they have gone up and over the number in thirteen of their last seventeen games where they faced a team with a winning % of .500 or higher and they are a perfect 4-0 to the over in their last four games following a straight up loss. Central Florida has emerged as one of the top teams in the AAC this season as they come in with a perfect 5-0 record on the year. The Knights have taken advantage of having played against a very easy schedule thus far. They face a solid Navy team here in this one who comes in off a close loss in their last game (their first defeat of the season). The Midshipmen are in their 3rd season in the AAC and have gone a very good 17-3 overall record in those 20 games thus far. They have one of the more underrated home field advantages in CFB also and are a solid play in this one getting this many points. Take #342 East Carolina (+5.5) over BYU (7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21)
There is just no way BYU should be favored against any FBS team on the road. These are two bad teams and thus getting over 5 points is too good to pass up. BYU is 1-6 on the season and they have not been competitive in any of those losses. In a few of those games the score made it look more competitive than it actually was. The Pirates have played a difficult schedule with four of their six losses coming against ranked teams. BYU is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The success the Giants found on Sunday night will be short lived as they will not stay within double-figures of the Seahawks this Sunday. Yes, this game is at home, but I would rather take the Giants as a big dog in Seattle than a smaller home dog. New York will be able to keep this game close for a little while, but the Seattle offense will wear down a Giants defense that will be on the field for much, much longer than they prefer. Russell Wilson is going to give the Giants fits with his mobility. Although the Giants secondary is tough, they won't be able to hold their coverage with Wilson being so mobile in the pocket. Take #266 Atlanta (+3.5) over New England (8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22)
This is one of my favorite football weeks of the year! I have THREE NFL 411 Plays this weekend, with plays on Thursday and Monday. And those NFL 411 Plays aren't even the highlight of my week as I have an 8-Unit College Football Game of the Year set for Saturday. This is going to be a great weekend and I want you on board! I think that Atlanta is going to get a big win this weekend. The Falcons have been waiting for this game since the schedule was released. They have revenge for what happened in the Super Bowl and I think that they will get it with a win. This New England team is not as good as on the one the Falcons played in January. The Patriots defense is really struggling and they should have lost to the Jets last weekend. The Patriots already have home losses to the Chiefs and the Panthers and they almost lost at home to Houston as a 13-point favorite. Atlanta is 2-0 on the road this year and they are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Falcons are coming off two straight losses. I think that this team will play its best game of the season and they will bounce back after last week in a game that means a lot to the Falcons players and fans. This one should be close and will come down to the final minutes again. But I think that Atlanta has a great chance to win outright so I will take the points. Take 'Under' 5.5 St. Louis at Vegas (10:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21)
The Vegas Golden Knights are off to a fantastic start to the season as they are surprisingly leading the Pacific Division early on. What's been clear is that the Knights want to win with their defense. They've allowed more than two goals just once in five games and have really come together quickly on the defensive end. They've also gotten some great goaltending play from Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban. The St. Louis Blues are still battling through a bevy of injuries, and that has made goals tougher to come by. Until they are 100% healthy, the Blues will prefer to slow things down and make the other team earn their goals. This one should be a tight, low-scoring affair and we like the UNDER.
