Take 'Under' Houston vs. Chicago White Sox (8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10)
This Thursday evening we like the 'Under' between these two teams as you will see two motivated pitchers do well. Brad Peacock was on fire coming into his last contest as he picked up yet another win and moved to 10-1 on the season. But, take a closer look and you will realize that he gave up 7 runs in 6 innings against Toronto, including 2 walks and 3 home runs. Frankly, not that impressive. Prior to that he had given up 7 runs in his last 5 starts. We like him to be motivated and to bounce-back on Thursday evening as he faces a White Sox team who has not seen him this year, and combine that with the fact that Rodon, who has a 4.66 era but his last two efforts, has been on point. He gave up 2 runs in 7.2 innings against the Red Sox at Fenway. And, he gave up 1 run in 6.2 innings against the defending AL Champs in Cleveland. Let's roll with the 'Under' here with two motivated pitchers.

Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Robert Ferringo :
Take 'Under' 38.0 Pittsburgh at N.Y. Giants (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11)
Football season is back and in full swing! I, for one, couldn't be more thrilled! I had a winning season in 2016 and I plan on topping that this year. I have also posted 8 of 10 winning Augusts and I plan on doing that again with my preseason picks. I like this spot for a lower-scoring game. There is a lot of offensive firepower on these two rosters. The problem is, none of it is going to see the field. Big Ben, Eli, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham; none of them are going to get any significant action in this one. As such, this total strikes me as high for two pretty physical teams with defense-first pedigrees. Pittsburgh went just 1-3 against the total last preseason and they are 5-11 in their last four preseasons. It's been a similar run for the Giants, going 1-3 against the total last year and 2-6 in the past two seasons. They are just 5-8 against the total the last three years. The last two times these two played in the preseason the games were 20-16 and 18-13, both going 'under'. Take 'Under' San Diego at Los Angeles Dodgers (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11)
I have been having another great MLB season and I am ready to pass last year's total of +$5,800 in profit. I have banked +$11,400 over the last two seasons, and this week I will have my 8-Unit MLB Game of the Year. Don't miss out! I think that this will be a low-scoring game between these two teams on Friday. The Dodgers will finally be home after a long road trip. They are also coming off a tough road series against rival Arizona. I think they will struggle a bit in this game. Hyun-Jin Ryu did not struggle in his last start. He was great against the Mets on Sunday Night Baseball, giving up just one hit in seven innings. I think he will be good again here. Ryu has 14 straight scoreless innings and has given up two runs or less in six straight starts. He is in a great groove. Clayton Richard is going for the Padres. He has really struggled lately. But I think he is going to be good here. The last time he faced the Dodgers they scored seven runs in just four innings against him. I think he will make adjustments and have a much stronger outing here. The 'under' is 7-3 in San Diego's last 10 games and the 'under' is 5-2 in Los Angeles' last seven. The 'under' is also 4-1 in L.A.'s last five home games and 4-0 in San Diego's last four road games. The 'under' is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles. Take 'Over' Boston at New York (7 p.m., Friday, August 11)
Boston holds a slim lead over the Yankees, but these two teams face each other quite a bit over the next couple of weeks so the battle for the division lead could change hands a couple of times. The Yankees acquired Jaime Garcia at the trade deadline and he has had a tough time lately, pitching for three different teams. Garcia has allowed 35 runs over his last 8 starts, and I think he will have a tough time with the Red Sox lineup that has been playing well recently. Eduardo Rodriguez will be on the bump for Boston, and he is 3-3 with a 4.59 ERA on the road this season. Rodriguez hasn't faced the Yankees yet this season, but he hasn't been very sharp lately as he has allowed 20 runs over his last 5 starts and I think the Bronx bombers will give him fits. Take #271 San Francisco (+4) over Kansas City (9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11)
The 49ers have been a mess for the last three years, and this will be their fourth new head coach in as many years. Generally, first-year head coaches take preseason games more seriously and the 49ers are in desperate need to build a winning culture and that may start during the preseason. Andy Reid is just 32-39 ATS in preseason games, and it seems he has taken them less seriously as he has gotten older. The 49ers have the more experienced second-string quarterback, and that will allow them to win this game straight-up. Getting this many points is just icing on the cake. Take 'Over' Houston at Texas (5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12)
The Houston Astros lead the league in run scoring, but with a couple of key guys out we may get a break on the total on Saturday. The Astros are a deep team, and they've got capable guys to fill in for Carlos Correa and George Springer. The Rangers have been putting up some runs of late, and they'll likely tee off on scheduled starter Mike Fiers. It's surprising that Fiers still has a job in a major league rotation - especially on a first-place club. Martin Perez is slated to go for Texas, and he's been anything but sharp of late. In two recent outings, Perez gave up eight runs and seven runs, and his strikeout rate is way down over the last couple of months. Take #279 Detroit (Pk) over Indianapolis (1:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13)
The NFL Preseason is mostly about two big things: 1) which team has the better backup QBs and 2) which coaches place a bigger emphasis on winning their preseason games. The quarterback situation for the Colts is a mess right now as they not only will be without Andrew Luck in this one but they will have to bump everyone up a notch on the depth chart for this game. Because Luck's early season is currently in jeopardy, the Colts likely will be very cautious here with his backup in this game, meaning most of the snaps will likely be handled by their 3rd- and 4th -string QBs. As far as the coaching situation goes, over the past 3 preseasons the Detroit Lions under Jim Caldwell are 8-4 straight-up compared to Indianapolis going 3-9 under Chuck Pagano. Take Houston Texans (+160) To Win AFC South
I'm completely shocked that the Indianapolis Colts are +160 to win the AFC South with the huge question marks with Andrew Luck. So the Houston Texans defense will be the big reason why I believe the Texans win the division. I know the Texans have a big question mark as well at QB, but the running game of Houston will carry the offense. The Denver Broncos are still debating on two QBs, and I know the Broncos defense will be excellent, but give me Houston 'D' over the Broncos 'D'. I know the media loves the Tennessee Titans, but their schedule is brutal and if they have any hiccups I see the Texans passing them in the division. Take Rickie Fowler 16/1 To Win PGA Championship
While the wins haven't been coming, other the Honda Classic back in February, Rickie Fowler has been one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour this season and he is in great form coming into the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow this week. He finished 9th last week at Firestone, 22nd at The Open at Royal Birkdale, 9th at The Scottish Open in his British Open warm-up tourney and he was 3rd at the Quicken Loans before heading across the pond. A further look back will show that he has eight Top-10 finishes this season to go along with that Honda Classic win, a second at The Memorial and a pair of third-place finishes at the Shell Houston Open and the earlier mentioned Quicken Loans. He has also had success in a PGA Championship, finishing third in 2014 and he has a win here at Quail Hollow under his belt in the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship. We have him as one of the Top 5 five course fits this week because he is long off the tee, which will come into play on a course playing at 7,600 yards and because he's an above-average putter. With no rain expected over the weekend in North Carolina, this will be huge as the greens should be fast and firm for the final two rounds. With Sergio winning the Masters, Rickie now has the "best player to never win a major" tag on him and we think that there is enough value at 16/1 to take him to win here and finally break through in one of the big ones after his six career Top 5 major finishes.
