Raphael Esparza has been hot on the diamond, and in his last 39 plays he is 28-11 for $6995. Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Vernon Croy :
Take Texas over Detroit (7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20)
Play the Texas Rangers on the moneyline as your free play for Thursday, August 20th. This pick falls into one of my top MLB systems and the Rangers are a red-hot team right now. There is also a pitching mismatch here with Simon who has given up at least 4 earned runs per game in 9 of his last 10 starts. Simon has an ERA of 5.38 over 15 night starts this season with opponents hitting .278 against him, and I look for this Rangers lineup to hit him hard Thursday night. Simon has an ERA of 5.90 since the All-Star break, and his walk-to-strikeout ratio is terrible over that span, walking 14 while striking out just 10. Lewis has been lights out in his last two starts since getting roughed up against the Astros, and I look for him to continue to pitch well here Thursday night. Lewis has only given up more than 2 earned runs just twice in his last 6 starts, and he has pitched better on the road this season than at home. Opponents have hit just .232 against Lewis since the All-Star break where he has an ERA of just 3.73, and I look for a strong outing for him Thursday night. Play the Texas Rangers with confidence. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Doc's Sports :
Take #405 Atlanta (-1) over New York Jets (7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21)
The Jets are in freefall at the moment without a starting quarterback and turmoil on both sides of the football. Both teams have new head coaches, so thus that angle is negated and we will just side with the better team. The Jets cannot afford another quarterback injury, and thus you can expect to see Ryan Fitzpatrick sparingly to make sure he is healthy come week one of the regular season. Look for Atlanta to move to 2-0 on the season with a road victory in East Rutherford, NJ. Do not miss Doc's Sports weekend football card highlighted by our NFL Preseason Game of the Year. Free WNBA Basketball Prediction From Indian Cowboy :
Take 'Over' Washington vs. Chicago (8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21)
We want you to notice a particular trend that we have been following that we use in our stat sheets and models. There is a big card this Friday in the WNBA and we look to continue our second half surge (22-10 run, 18-8, +3670 including a 3-0 weekend of relatively easy wins +1200). You will notice Washington visiting Chicago on the road. This game is intriguing for a couple of reasons. For starters, Washington is one of the best revenge teams in the league. This is a squad that has a fantastic coaching staff and has come a long way from years' past. This team just beat Minnesota at home as a small underdog, winning Outright by a score of 77-69. They fell short to Chicago earlier this year 68-71, and 57-85 prior to that (note, that this team had beat them in the first meeting of the season 86-71). Whereas Washington is one of the best revenge teams in the league, Chicago is one of the best offensive teams in the league and in particular bouncing-back offensively after a poor offensive showing in their previous game. Note each time this team has scored in the 60's their next game has been much better per offensive efficiency. For example from the beginning of the season here are the scores: 65, 98, 71, 81, 66, 93, 63, 94 and most recently 64 at Los Angeles. See a trend? We look for Chicago to bounce-back offensively, we look for Washington with revenge here as they are likely a quality active underdog and consequently we look for this game to go 'Over' Friday evening.

Take Chicago (NL) over Atlanta (4:05 p.m., Saturday, August 22)
The Cubs are in the thick of the playoff hunt, which is part of the reason they traded for Dan Haren to add depth to their starting rotation. Haren has gone 1-1 in three starts for the Cubs so far, picking up the win in his only start at home where he is much better than on the road. Haren is 5-3 with a 2.89 ERA in his starts at home and he was solid in his only appearance against the Braves this year when he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings of a 6-2 win when he was pitching for the Marlins earlier this season. Williams Perez will be on the mound for the Braves, and he has lost his last 4 starts allowing 20 earned runs over 24.2 innings pitched. Atlanta has been brutal on the road this year, going 21-41 and, I don't think they will have enough to pick up the win against the Cubs, who have been solid at home going 34-24 on the year. Take 'Under' 7.5 Cleveland at New York Yankees (1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22)
Two young aces will duel it out on Saturday afternoon when the Yankees host the Indians. Danny Salazar is quickly developing into a dominating force in the American League as he's 11-6 with a sparkling 3.16 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 22 starts. Luis Severino has made only three starts in the big leagues, but all indications are that he's going to be lights out. His stuff is tremendous as he is striking out 9.5 batters per nine innings, and he dominated the minor league competition as well. All eyes will be on these two in Yankees Stadium on Saturday, and I expect them to deliver in a big way. Take the UNDER as our free play selection from Doc's. Take 'Under' 38.5 St. Louis at Tennessee (8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23)
I'm going with the 'under' in this one, and I also have an 8-Unit NFL Futures Play that will be posted this week. I like the 'under' in this game because of the matchups. St. Louis has a Top 10 defense. The starters will play the first half and they should be able to shut down Tennessee's starting offense with its rookie quarterback. On the other side the St. Louis offense only scored three points in Oakland last week. They don't look sharp at all. Tennessee brought in Dick LeBeau to help fix their defense from last year, and the Titans are going to have their focus on that side of the ball. The weather could be a factor this weekend as rain is in the early forecast. And I see both teams running the ball a lot and keeping their focus on the defense. This is one of the lowest totals of the weekend for good reason, and I see another low-scoring game between these two teams. Play 'under'. Take Atlanta Falcons 'Under' 8.5 Wins (NFL Futures)
We've handed out three straight free play winners in this space. This one is No. 4 in a row, even if this one is going to take a few months to cash. I've gone 12-3 (80%) in my career with my futures plays of 5.0 or higher, and I currently have an 8-Unit Play that I love that's available with my NFL Preseason picks this week. This play against the Falcons may not be on that level, but I still really like it. The fact is that outside of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones the rest of this roster is a dumpster fire. They brought in a new coach and new coordinators, but even they can't fix what is wrong with this team. Atlanta's defense is woefully short on talent, and they simply can't stop anyone. Ryan and the offense will have a much better season this year. But even on that side of the ball the offensive line is below average and the running game and tight ends are nonexistent. They're one injury to Jones - who has missed several games each of the past few years - away from having serious problems there too. Atlanta could start the season 0-4 before the schedule opens up. But even then a lot of their most winnable games are on the road. Atlanta has only won 10 games the past two seasons, and I don't see an appreciable difference in talent. So projecting them to win nine games and beat this number is overly optimistic. I see a six- or seven-win team here, and this one is an easy 'under' call. Take Cincinnati Bengals 'Over' 8.5 Wins -130 (January 2016)
There is talk every year about how Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton just can't get it done in the playoffs. Truth is, that talk is right, but we don't have to worry about that when it comes to playing a season win total. The Bengals have won 9, 10, 11 and 10 games in the last four seasons with Dalton under center, and we see no reason why they can't get to double digits once again in 2015. Their top four WR's on the roster (AJ Green, Mohamed Sanu, Brandon Tate and Marvin Jones) are all up for contracts this season, so we should see maximum effort from the guys on the outside. They have an excellent running game with the two-headed monster of Jeremy Hill and Giovanni Bernard, and the return of Tyler Eifert will help in both the running and passing games. The defense is better than many think, and the Bengals should once again be in the hunt for the AFC North title, easily putting them in the 9-11 wins range here in the 2015 season.
