Monday Night Football Predictions: Rams at Seahawks Odds and NFL Picks
by Alan Matthews - 12/7/2011
You know how I have been moaning all year about how the Monday Night Football schedule has been atrocious almost the entire season? Well, I have good news and bad news for you this week. The bad is that as awful as last week’s Jaguars-Chargers matchup was, at least there were a few big-name stars in that one in San Diego QB Philip Rivers and Jacksonville RB Maurice Jones-Drew.
Monday Night Football Picks: Chargers at Jaguars Odds and Betting Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 12/1/2011
This coming Monday night, I recommend you watch a college basketball game – although no ranked teams play – or perhaps Bruins-Penguins in a possible Eastern Conference Finals preview in the NHL. Maybe tune-up your car or finish your Christmas shopping, or even watch some chick-flick romantic comedy to make your wife or significant other happy.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Giants at Saints NFL Odds
by Alan Matthews - 11/23/2011
The G-Men (6-4) have a tendency to go into the tank in the second half of the season under Tom Coughlin – Super Bowl season aside. And has that slide already begun? New York is on a two-game losing streak, falling in San Francisco two weeks ago in which the Giants played pretty well but then mostly getting manhandled last Sunday at home by the Eagles, which essentially kept Philly’s season alive and allowed Dallas to tie the Giants for first in the NFC East.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Chiefs at Patriots Odds and NFL picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/18/2011
It looks like the biggest mismatch of Week 11 in the NFL on “Monday Night Football” when the New England Patriots (6-3) host the New England Patriots Lite, otherwise known as the Kansas City Chiefs (4-5). Perhaps no two teams have more ties than these two clubs.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Vikings at Packers Odds and Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/11/2011
I hope you enjoyed the exciting previous two weeks of “Monday Night Football” – Chiefs-Chargers and Bears-Eagles both going down to the final minute – because we are back to what on the surface looks like another dog game, this between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Bears at Eagles Odds and NFL Betting Picks
by Alan Matthews - 11/4/2011
On paper, Monday night’s game between the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles looks rather mediocre: a 4-3 Chicago team that has no hope of repeating as NFC North champs thanks to the Packers, and a 3-4 Eagles team that is in a three-way tie for last in the NFC East (a tad misleading), two games behind the New York Giants.
Monday Night Football Picks: Chargers at Chiefs NFL Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 10/27/2011
A few weeks ago, this week’s Monday night game between the San Diego Chargers (4-2) and Kansas City Chiefs (3-3) looked like the latest lame offering on “Monday Night Football” – I mean, did you really watch in entirety this past Monday’s night ugly Ravens-Jaguars 12-7 “shootout”?
Monday Night Football Picks: Ravens at Jaguars Odds and Predictions

It’s really a shame that ESPN already re-upped with the NFL to keep “Monday Night Football” on the network through 2021, because if I’m the ESPN executive in charge of that deal beforehand, I am insisting that the network get some sort of flex scheduling like NBC does for the Sunday night game late in the season.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Dolphins at Jets Odds
by Alan Matthews - 10/14/2011
Well, it looks like another stinker on “Monday Night Football” this week, as MNF features its third winless team of the year (not counting Week 1) in the “Dear God hopefully we lose out and get to draft Andrew Luck” Miami Dolphins at a skidding New York Jets team that probably faces a must-win if they hope to get to the Super Bowl that Rex Ryan promised before the season.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Bears at Lions Odds and Betting Picks
by Alan Matthews - 10/7/2011
It’s arguably the biggest divisional game for the Detroit Lions since they moved into Ford Field in 2002 and it’s also the first time the Lions have hosted a Monday night game in that stadium (their last was in 2001 in the Silverdome), so it should be quite a boisterous crowd for “Monday Night Football” this week when Detroit hosts Chicago in an NFC North tilt. Unfortunately for Lions fans watching at home, they won’t get to hear Hank Williams Jr.’s legendary MNF opening!
Monday Night Football Picks: Colts at Bucs Odds and Betting Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 9/29/2011
Think the folks at ESPN are a little envious of their compatriots at NBC right now? I say that because later in the season, NBC is allowed to use a flex schedule to get a better game for its Sunday night telecast. “Monday Night Football” doesn’t get that option at all, and you know MNF would have flexed out the Peyton Manning-less Indianapolis Colts this week. Thankfully, it’s the only Monday Night Football schedule appearance of the season for the club.
Monday Night Football Predictions: Redskins at Cowboys Betting Odds
by Alan Matthews - 9/23/2011
The Cowboys have been probably the most entertaining team to watch through two games in that both of their games have had exciting, last-minute endings. In Week 1 Dallas should have won at the Jets before Tony Romo choked in the clutch with a crucial fumble, then for some reason throwing at Darrelle Revis in the final minute and seeing that get picked off. So a 24-10 lead turned into a 27-24 crushing loss. Dallas had been 246-1-1 when leading by 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Monday Night Football Picks: Rams at Giants NFL Odds and Predictions
by Alan Matthews - 9/15/2011
It’s a big night for the St. Louis Rams as they will appear on Monday Night Football for the first time since 2006 when they visit the Giants in New York’s home opener – it’s the first time the G-Men have hosted a MNF game since 2003 (that doesn’t seem possible, but it’s true). It’s also the Rams’ only road game until Week 6.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Saints at Falcons Betting Odds
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/27/2010
The Atlanta Falcons have not lost in the Georgia Dome since Dec. 13… of 2009. They are now one win away from not having to play another road game until September of 2011. If the Falcons (12-2) can get past NFC South rival New Orleans (10-4) on Monday night in Atlanta at 8:30 p.m. EST, then Atlanta will earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the first-round bye and the home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/20/2010
The Metrodome roof gave way last Sunday and those developments give way for an interesting Monday Night Football game. The NFC North showdown between the Minnesota Vikings (5-8) and Chicago Bears (9-4) Monday at 8:30 p.m. EST will now be played at TCF Bank Stadium.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Ravens at Texans Betting Odds and Predictions
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/13/2010
For whatever reason, the Houston Texans are on national television again. Monday night’s game against Baltimore at Reliant Stadium in Houston at 8:30 p.m. EST represents the second consecutive week the Texans have been featured on a nationally televised game and third time this season.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Jets at Patriots Betting Odds and Predictions
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 12/6/2010
Another Monday night and another critical divisional matchup between teams with identical records, but unlike last week when fellow 3-7 squads San Francisco and Arizona dueled it out, this Monday’s showdown between the 9-2 New York Jets and the 9-2 New England Patriots will have the entire league watching.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: 49ers at Cardinals Betting Odds and Predictions
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/29/2010
The 49ers and Cardinals would be battling for positioning in the NFL Draft in most divisions. The NFC West is not most divisions. Both teams are still very much alive for a playoff spot (and a home game in the postseason, no less) thanks to the incredible mediocrity of the NFC West. Some call it parity, but most call it bad football. Regardless, both teams have shown potential at times this season, albeit inconsistently.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks: Broncos at Chargers Betting Odds
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/22/2010
An AFC West showcase on Monday Night Football also presents a showcase of two of the league’s top passers. But the reason that Denver’s Kyle Orton and San Diego’s Phillip Rivers are two of the elite passers in the league is because they are usually playing from behind.
Monday Night Football NFL Picks and Predictions: Eagles at Redskins Betting Odds
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 11/15/2010
Donavan McNabb got the best of his former team in the last meeting against the Eagles despite posting pedestrian numbers. If he wants a season sweep over the Eagles, McNabb will have to have a better game because this time Michael Vick will be starting for Philadelphia when Philadelphia (5-3) visit the Washington Redskins (4-4) Monday night at 8:30 p.m. EST in a critical NFC East matchup.
