Free Sweet 16 Betting Picks: NCAA Tournament Dogs with Massive Wagering Value
by Trevor Whenham - 3/23/2016
On any given day I am drawn to betting underdogs. Maybe I'm just a romantic at heart - always pulling for David and rooting against Goliath. In the NCAA Tournament, though, my fascination for underdogs grows even stronger. There is something about this tournament that can produce underdogs that cover big spreads, or even win outright, and make faithful bettors' pockets fuller. It's a beautiful thing. Looking at the Sweet 16 field illuminates three underdogs that seem to have particular appeal this time around.
Reseeding the Sweet 16 According to NCAA Tournament Championship Futures Odds
by Chris Vasile - 3/23/2016
As usual, the tournament lived up to its "March Madness" nickname and produced some of the biggest upsets and comebacks the NCAA Tournament has ever seen. From Middle Tennessee State knocking off the co-favorite Michigan Spartans, to Wisconsin's winning buzzer beater against Xavier to Texas A&M's biggest last-minute comeback in NCAA Tournament history.
NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Free Picks for Best Team Props
by Dave Schwab - 3/23/2016
In one of last week's top prop picks, I went with the "over" that at least two No. 1 seeds would advance to the Final Four at +110 betting odds. That wager is still alive and well with all four No. 1 seeds advancing to the Sweet 16, but things start to get tricky from here with some solid competition still left in the other 12 teams. The following are a few more picks for these special NCAA Tournament team props based on the best value in the betting odds.
Sweet 16 Betting Advice: Differences Between Opening Round
by Trevor Whenham - 3/22/2016
We are at a transition point in the NCAA Tournament. Really, it's like a whole new tournament starts on Thursday, because what we will see over the four days of this weekend will bear little resemblance for both bettors and fans to what we saw over the last weekend of insanity. Bettors who ignore those differences and approach this coming weekend the same as last one are going to cost themselves money over the long term by sacrificing an edge and making value tough to find.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: Ranking the Sweet 16 Teams
by Trevor Whenham - 3/21/2016
The field for the Sweet 16 is set, and after perhaps the craziest opening weekend in NCAA Tournament history we have a couple of much-needed days to sit back, regroup, and assess where we are at. While it seemed like there was going to be a bizarre set of teams alive for the second weekend after Thursday and Friday, the truth is that it is actually a pretty top-heavy group. All four No. 1 seeds survived - and didn't experience much stress in doing so.
Sweet 16 Bracket Picks and Expert Analysis
by Trevor Whenham - 3/21/2016
As you may recall, I explained how my bracket laid out in an article published soon after the field was set for the NCAA Tournament. Like so many others, it didn't go well. Not well at all. I had Kansas winning, which I still am happy about. It gets ugly from there, though. Texas A&M was their opponent in the Final Four. That is still obviously possible, but I don't feel nearly as good about it as I did. The other side of the bracket is just a dumpster fire - I had Michigan State beating West Virginia in Houston.
NCAA Tournament Betting 3-Point Play: Three Interesting March 20 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/19/2016
Your bracket may be busted with No. 2 Michigan State's stunning loss to No. 15 Middle Tennessee on Friday -- I had MSU in the Final Four but at least no further -- but basically every sportsbook on earth was doing jumping jacks over that upset because MSU took so much action to win the national title. I would argue that's the biggest upset in tournament history. There were a total of 13 upsets in the first round, matching the record for first-round upsets based on seed since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.
March Madness Free Picks for Best Props on Board Saturday March 19 Night Games
by Chris Vasile - 3/19/2016
Good morning Middle Tennessee State fans, and what a lovely morning it is! I couldn't be any happier at the fact that we won't be seeing Tom Izzo's face on television for another eight months. Don't get me wrong, he's a good coach, I just dislike him very much.
March Madness Free Picks for Best Props on Board Friday March 18 Night Games
by Chris Vasile - 3/18/2016
Day 1 of the NCAA Tournament is in the books. And much like the other two certainties in life (death and taxes), your bracket is most certainly busted. It was not one of the craziest tournament days I've ever seen, but it did produce seven games that were won by the lower seed. No. 9 seeds went 3-0 straight up and against the spread, and the No.11 and No.12 seeds both won and covered their respective games. Bracket = busted.
NCAA Tournament Betting 3-Point Play: Three Interesting March 18 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/17/2016
Do you remember last year's NCAA Tournament? The first Thursday was one of the wildest days ever in the Big Dance with buzzer-beaters and upset galore. The Friday, however, was pretty bland and mostly chalk. Here's hoping that changes this season as the Round of 32 will be finalized by around midnight. Would you be willing to bet all four top seeds make it to the second weekend? The two most in danger of not, in my opinion: Oregon and Virginia.
March Madness Free Picks for Best Props on Board Thursday March 17 Night Games
by Chris Vasile - 3/17/2016
If you have blinked more than one time today, I think you are watching March Madness wrong. I have three computers going with three different games and could not be more pleased at the kind of basketball I have witnessed so far today. UNC Wilmington took Duke right down to the wire. However, as usual, Duke was too strong and got the win but failed to cover as 10-point favorites.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: West Region
by Robert Ferringo - 3/16/2016
Oregon, Oklahoma and Texas A&M are all viable Final Four contenders and have been among the best teams in their respective conferences all season. Oh, and then there's some Duke team that you might've heard something about. Throw those four teams into a mix and you have a royal rumble that should provide an outstanding regional final.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: South Region
by Robert Ferringo - 3/16/2016
If there is a "Group of Death" in the NCAA Tournament field it would have to be the South Region. Kansas and Villanova, the top two seeds, enter the Big Dance as two of the favorites to win the tournament. Maryland started the season as the preseason No. 1 in some polls. Miami and Arizona have both been Top 15 staples, and fourth-seeded California has one of the best backcourts in the country.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: Midwest Region
by Robert Ferringo - 3/16/2016
A quick scan through the Midwest Region shows this fundamental matchup featured over and over again. Purdue, Gonzaga, Utah and Dayton are all teams led by some of the best major and mid-major frontcourts in the country. They are matched up with Arkansas-Little Rock, Seton Hall, Fresno State and Syracuse, respectively: four teams that have earned their spots in The Big Dance thanks to dynamic and multifaceted guard play.
NCAA Tournament Betting 3-Point Play: Three Interesting March 17 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/16/2016
Don't know about you, but I can't think of a better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than by spending all day at some Irish pub with March Madness on the tube! One prop I always like for the NCAA Tournament is betting on which conference the winner will come from. While the two team favorites are from the Big 12 (Kansas) and Big Ten (Michigan State), I tend to agree that the ACC should be favored, and it is at +200. You have legit chances for North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland to cut down the nets. Not sure Duke is good enough to repeat.
NCAA Tournament Brackets Strategy and Advice: Dangerous Lower Seeds
by Victor Ryan - 3/16/2016
One of the best ways to identify potential first-round "upsets" in the NCAA Tournament is take a look at the Las Vegas odds. Seemingly every year, there are a handful of lower seeds that are actually favored on the betting lines. These are the potential "upsets" you might want to zero-in on when filling out your bracket.
NCAA Tournament Wagering Advice: Handicapping Big East Teams in Big Dance
by Dave Schwab - 3/16/2016
The Big East Conference is well represented in this year's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, with four additional teams getting an at-large bid along with Seton Hall as the Big East Conference Tournament Champion. While the expectation level for teams such as Villanova and Xavier remain high as two of the top-ranked teams in the nation, upstarts like Seton Hall could be in position to make a deeper-than-expected run along with Providence and Butler.
March Madness Betting and Handicapping: Cheat Sheet for NCAA Tournament Wagering
by George Monroy - 3/16/2016
The first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament is set to begin this Thursday, March 17, and offers full days of games throughout the weekend. March Madness may be the greatest time of the year for basketball fans and bettors alike. Who doesn't love an entire postseason cramped into a three-week span? Kansas earned the No. 1 overall seed, while Michigan State has been installed as the favorite to win the national title, according to Bovada.
Free March Madness Picks and Predictions for Thursday, March 17
by Chris Vasile - 3/16/2016
The build up and anticipation is almost over. Thank God. The Round of 64 is set to tip off Thursday, and for those who are still looking for tips to fill out a last-minute bracket, look no further. However, filling out a bracket is not the be all and end all to this glorious tournament we all love.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: East Region
by Robert Ferringo - 3/15/2016
Philadelphia is the home of the East Region of the NCAA Tournament, and The City of Brotherly Love is known for its toughness, physicality, and generally aggressive basketball players. Philly basketball games are rock fights. Only the strong survive.
