Free Sweet 16 March Madness Prop Bets & Expert Predictions for Friday
by Chris Vasile - 3/24/2017
If the remaining four Sweet 16 games are anything like the first four, basketball fans should be excited. Last night we were treated to three games that were decided by a combined six points. In each of those games, the trailing team had one or two opportunities to either tie or take the lead, but their shots just wouldn't drop. The fourth game was a blowout, but it was a treat to watch Kansas dismantle Purdue. They looked sharp and produced several highlights worthy of ESPN.
NCAA Basketball Expert Predictions: Three Interesting March 24 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/23/2017
Entering the NCAA Tournament, BetOnline had the national champion coming from the ACC as the +175 favorite among all the conferences. I thought that was the best bet with the conference having nine teams in and three legitimate contenders in North Carolina, Duke and Louisville. Yet only the Heels remain as the ACC is just 7-8 entering the Sweet 16 (and 2-13 ATS) and down to +425 on this prop. Now the favored conference is the Big 12 at +275 as it still has No. 1 Kansas, No. 3 Baylor and No. 4 West Virginia.
Free Sweet 16 March Madness Prop Bets & Expert Predictions for Thursday
by Chris Vasile - 3/23/2017
We are quickly approaching one of the prime sporting periods of the calendar year. March Madness is in full swing and we are now down to the supposed "best" 16 teams in the country. The NBA has a mere 10 games left in its bloated regular season, and the NHL has several key playoff races to keep your eyes on over the final two weeks of the regular season. Oh, and the MLB season is lurking. What a great time it is to be a sports fan. But before we get ahead of ourselves and start looking at potential playoff matchups and opening day starters, there is business to take care of on the college hardwood.
Reseeding the Sweet 16 Bracket According to NCAA Championship Future Odds
by Chris Vasile - 3/22/2017
With all due respect to the term "March Madness," this year's tournament has failed to live up to the hype - so far. The first two days were filled with chalky outcomes and produced very little substance to talk about at the watercooler the next day. Only six lower seeds were able to move on to play in the Round of 32, but three of them were the game-time favorite, so that shouldn't come as any surprise.
NCAA Basketball Expert Predictions: Three Interesting March 23 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/22/2017
The NCAA Tournament's East Region lost both No. 1 seed and defending national champion Villanova and preseason 2016-17 championship favorite and No. 2 Duke in the Round of 32 last weekend. So the East is totally up for grabs. Otherwise, it has been a fairly chalk NCAA Tournament as we begin the Sweet 16. The No. 1 seed - Gonzaga (West), Kansas (Midwest) and North Carolina (South) -- remains in the other three regions. The South is totally chalk with the top four remaining. The only double-digit seed left is No. 11 Xavier in the South, and it's clear that Xavier shouldn't have been seeded 11th. North Carolina remains BetOnline's title favorite at +400 even though the Heels appear to have the most difficult path to a championship.
Expert March Madness Betting Picks: Best and Worst Sweet 16 Wagers
by Trevor Whenham - 3/22/2017
Quite often I have to spend some time in the introduction to an article explaining just what I am going to write about. I am trusting that that isn't the case here - Expert March Madness Betting: Best and Worst Sweet 16 Wagers is about as clear and descriptive as a title can be. For my money this is the most interesting round of the tournament to bet on - the best combination of number of games, quality of teams, and level of public betting interest. So, let's just get at it (odds are from BetOnline):
Expert Sweet 16 Betting Advice: Underdog Value in 2017
by Trevor Whenham - 3/22/2017
All things being equal, I would rather bet on an underdog. Maybe I just psychologically like the little guy. Or maybe I like the idea of winning a bet even when my team loses the game. Or perhaps it's because I love the moneyline, and making better than even money on a bet excites me. Whatever the reason, I am always on the lookout for opportunities to bet on the less-likely winner. In the eight games on tap for the Sweet 16 on Thursday and Friday there are four underdogs I can make a decent case for - and one that I truly love (odds are from Bovada):
Sweet 16 Bracket Picks and Expert Analysis
by Trevor Whenham - 3/21/2017
How did my bracket go through the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament? Not too bad, all things considered. Villanova and Duke destroyed a whole lot of brackets, but I had Duke beating Villanova and then losing to Gonzaga in the Final Four so it didn't hurt me too badly. I also had Louisville losing to Michigan. So, I'm a long way from perfect at this point, but it could certainly be much worse.
NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Betting Advice: Differences Between Opening Round
by Trevor Whenham - 3/21/2017
The breezy fun is over in the NCAA Tournament. Now things get serious. Once the Sweet 16 is set, teams suddenly believe they have a chance, the level of competition increases, and it's like a whole new event. Teams survive the first two rounds and then win the tournament in the next four.
March Madness Bracket Predictions: Ranking the Sweet 16 Teams
by Trevor Whenham - 3/20/2017
The first weekend of glorious March Madness action is over. And it was... pretty good. It started slow, with a dull Thursday and a spotty Friday, but the weekend certainly delivered. And now we are left with the Sweet 16. Some of the remaining teams were expected. Some weren't. With the absence of both the top overall seed and the pre-tournament betting favorite, and without any completely fluky teams, this is as wide open and competitive as any we have seen in a long time. You can make a case for any remaining team - though some are obviously stronger than others.
NCAA Basketball Expert Predictions: Three Interesting March 17 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/16/2017
NCAA Tournament action all day and night on St. Patrick's Day!? I think there will be plenty of hangovers around the country on Saturday morning. The Pac-12 was ridiculously strong at the top this season with Arizona, Oregon and UCLA. That conference hasn't had a Final Four team since 2008 or a national champion since 1997. Is this the year that changes? I probably only give the Wildcats a shot because the Ducks are down a key player and the Bruins are in the toughest region.

We at Doc's Sports fully understand that and we are doing what it takes to help you come up with solid methods on how to put together the best possible bracket for your office tournaments. It won't be perfect, but the tips should help you contend for first place.
NCAA Tournament Betting Help: Best and Worst ATS Teams in the Big Dance
by Aaron Smith - 3/15/2017
The NCAA Tournament is here, and Doc's Sports is helping you with your NCAA Tournament betting. Not all the teams that made the NCAA Tournament were good to against the spread bettors this year. Some of the big names burned money throughout the season. On the other hand, there were some top teams that were absolutely money in the bank. Let's take a look at the teams on each side and see where the oddsmakers have set their lines for their first round games.
NCAA Tournament Brackets Predictions: Dangerous Middle Seeds with Futures Odds
by Ricky Dimon - 3/15/2017
Connecticut won the National Championship as a No. 7 seed in 2014. An eighth-seeded Kentucky team was also part of the Final Four that year. Michigan State reached the national semifinals as a seventh seed in 2015 before falling to eventual champion Duke. Last season saw No. 10 seed Syracuse, which most pundits felt should have been left out of the NCAA Tournament altogether, advance to Houston. In other words, it may behoove your bracket-and your bank account-to pay serious attention to under-the-radar contestants during March Madness.
2017 March Madness Betting Strategies: Reseeding the Bracket
by Chris Vasile - 3/15/2017
Every single Division I basketball team takes to the court at the beginning of November with the same goal in mind - reaching the NCAA Tournament. They put in hours upon hours of practice, film sessions and weight training. In an ideal world, every single team should be rewarded with a chance to play for the National Championship. Unfortunately, in the world we live in, only 68 teams get that opportunity, while the other 275 can only wait until next year to try again.
Sports Betting Futures Odds: March Madness is Just About Here
by Ricky Dimon - 3/15/2017
It's the most wonderful time of the year; no, not Christmas. March! Football season may be over, but baseball is underway, the Masters is not far off, playoffs in the NBA and NHL are approaching, and-most importantly-the NCAA Tournament is upon us. Will Villanova repeat as champion? Can North Carolina go one step father than it did in 2016? Is a Final Four trip finally in the cards for Gonzaga? Those questions, and more, will soon be answered.
NCAA Tournament Handicapping: Best Value Bets in 2017
by Trevor Whenham - 3/14/2017
Most of the attention when it comes to the NCAA Tournament is around filling out brackets. While that is indeed a great part of it, you also need to remember that this is a fantastic time to be a bettor. All of these teams are going to be playing their best - at least theoretically - and we don't need to worry about home-court advantage. And every game is televised, so we can easily get an immediate sense of how teams look and what we can expect next time out. Over the first four days in particular we get just a smorgasbord of great betting opportunities. Here are four nice value bets that pop out over the first two days alone:
Betting Odds & Free Picks NCAA Tournament Team Props
by Aaron Smith - 3/14/2017
The NCAA Tournament is one of the best times of the year for sports fans. It is also a great time of the year as a sports bettor. There is no shortage of ways to bet on the NCAA Tournament. Several of Doc's Sports top sportsbooks are offering a lot of team prop betting options. Having a bracket is a lot of fun, but finding value on these prop bet options is an even better way to try to make some money. I have a few team props that I believe offer some value this March. I threw a bonus overall NCAA Tournament fun prop at the end of this article as well.
March Madness Bracket Trends for Seeds
by Chris Vasile - 3/14/2017
The unofficial start of the 2017 NCAA Tournament is tonight, which means the deadline for completing your bracket is fast approaching. Most NCAA Tournament brackets do not include the four play-in games, which is why you still have a little bit of time left to complete that last-minute research.
NCAA Basketball Expert Predictions: Three Interesting March 15 Opening Lines
by Alan Matthews - 3/14/2017
So, which is the easiest region in the NCAA Tournament? I would argue it's the Midwest, in which Kansas is the +220 Bovada favorite to win. I believe the Jayhawks will do just that because their potential Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games are in Kansas City. Louisville is a No. 2 seed, and the Cards are OK. However, Oregon is the No. 3 and just lost one of its best players, big man Chris Boucher, to a season-ending injury in the Pac-12 Tournament. No. 4 is Purdue, and if you have watched any Big Ten basketball this season you know that conference is a joke. I expect a chalk regional final there between KU and U of L, with the Jayhawks advancing thanks to essentially home-court advantage.
