2025 Los Angeles Angels Predictions with World Series Odds and Season Win Total Picks

The Los Angeles Angels had a disappointing season in Ron Washington’s first year as manager. The Angels finished in last place in the AL West, as they went just 63-99. They went just 4-8 in extra inning affairs, and they had a -162-run differential. They finished 23 games out of the final wild card spot and 25.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the division standings.
Zach Neto led the Angels with a 5.1 WAR, as Neto recorded a team best 30 stolen bases and 77 RBIs while finishing second on the team in runs (70) and homeruns (23). Logan O’Hoppe finished second on the team with a 2.7 WAR, as the catcher clubbed 20 homeruns and 56 RBIs. Taylor Ward led the team with 25 homeruns and 144 hits, while finishing second on the team with 75 RBIs. Jo Adell was the other Angels player to reach the 20-homerun mark, as the outfielder hit 20 homeruns while plating 62 RBIs and he stole 15 bases despite hitting just .207. Luis Rengifo was the only other Angles player to reach the 20-stolen base mark as he finished with 24. The offensive struggles were apparent all season for the Angels, as they finished 28th in runs, OPS, and hits, 22nd in homeruns, and 19th in walks.
Their pitching staff didn’t perform any better. They ranked 26th in ERA, posting a 4.56 mark while also finishing 26th in WHIP (1.35). However, most of those struggles were in their starting rotation, as their bullpen finished 16th in ERA and 15th in WHIP. Tyler Anderson was the best pitcher of the Angels last season, as he led the team with 179.1 innings pitched, a 3.1 WAR, and 12 quality starts. Griffin Canning finished second on the team with 171.2 innings pitched, but he posted a 5.19 ERA and had a lowly 6.8 K/9 mark en route to a 6-13 record. Reid Detmers and Patrick Sandoval join Canning as Angels pitchers to make more than 15 starts and finish the season with a 5.08 ERA or hire with Detmers finishing with a 6.70 ERA. Ben Joyce and Hans Crouse look like future reliable options out of the bullpen for Los Angeles, as they both finished with sub-2.50 ERAs in their limited time with the Angels.

Los Angeles Angels Key Additions/Losses
The Angels have had a busy offseason. Carson Fulmer, Matt Moore, Hunter Strickland, Brandon Drury, and Kevin Pillar all hit the free agent market. The team also traded away Canning and Matt Thaiss, while also non-tendering Patrick Sandoval.
The additions far outweigh the subtractions for the Angels. The team acquired Jorge Soler from the Braves in the Canning deal and they claimed another power bat in Ryan Noda from the Athletics. Los Angeles signed veteran catcher Travis d’Arnaud, infielder Kevin Newman, pitchers Kyle Hendricks, Yusei Kikuchi, Dakota Hudson, and Kenley Jansen. The Angles also took fliers on infielders Yolmer Sanchez, J.D. Davis, Carter Kieboom, and Tim Anderson, and relievers Connor Brogdon and Victor Gonzalez, signing all these veterans to minor league deals.
Los Angeles Angels Prospect Outlook
The farm system looks bleak for the Los Angeles Angels heading into this season. Though they have some young talent at the big-league level, their farm system is light compared to some other teams who are in the rebuilding phase. Their farm system ranks 28th in the MLB, and they have just two prospects ranked in the MLB’s Top 100 Prospects list. Second baseman Christian Moore looks like he is a real contender to make his way to the big-league roster at some point this season, as he has been the talk of the Angels camp so far during Spring Training. He is the highest rated prospect in the Angels system and is ranked 68th in the Top 100. Right hander Caden Dana follows Moore as the second highest rated prospect for the Angels and is ranked 78th overall. Dana should provide depth to the starting rotation if the Angels need it at some point this season.
Los Angeles Angels X-Factors
Front Office- The Angels need a lot more than two prospects to have an impact on their future. They did a great job bringing in some veteran players who could build some value early in the season and could bring in a nice return should the Angles decide to move on. Trout should have been a trade candidate a few seasons ago, but now the Angels could begin to field some calls on the future hall of famer after they already moved on from one generational talent in Shohei Ohtani. Trout could field in an incredible return that could replenish the Angels’ minor league talent. Soler, d’Arnaud, Kikuchi, Anderson, and Hendricks are all proven players that could be flipped to a contender at the deadline. The Angels will be near the bottom of the division with the Athletics, so the only key for the Angels this season is to look beyond 2025 and build a roster around budding talent.
Los Angeles Angels Expectations
The expectations are pretty low for the Angels. Their rotation is incredibly weak, while their lineup isn’t scaring anybody, even with Trout penciled in at the three spot. The expectation set by Angels fans are too see what the club can do with their added veterans and what young prospects to get excited about. Moore could join Neto in what could be an incredible middle infield pairing of the future, but the Angels need to replenish their farm system, especially with their pitching. A few good trades and a solid draft class, and the Angels could position themselves nicely for the future.
Los Angeles Angels Notable Odds:
Win Total: 72.5
World Series Champions- +18000
Pennant Winners- +6500
Division Winners- +2100
AL MVP- Mike Trout +1600
AL Cy Young- Yusei Kikuchi +8000
AL Rookie of the Year- Caden Dana +5000
2025 Los Angeles Angels Predictions
Caden Dana strictly due to his value at +5000, however, he will likely start the season in the bullpen and may only get a handful of starts. His limited action will keep him from winning the AL Rookie of the Year. As for any of the other player awards, Trout is capable of winning another MVP if he can stay healthy, but that hasn’t happened much over the last few years, and his playing time could be limited and a factor in keeping him from winning another MVP. As for the win total, I think the Angels will fall under 72 wins. I think a good bit of their offseason additions are going to be trade chips before the deadline. And even if they aren’t, the state of their starting rotation is incredibly concerning. There is no way this team improved by 10 wins this past offseason. Take the under.
