UFC 126 Odds With Predictions and Betting Picks
by T.O. Whenham - 2/4/2011
Some UFC cards are much better than others. UFC 126, which takes place the night before the Super Bowl at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, is one of the better ones we have seen lately. All five fights on the main card give us a reason to be excited, and two in particular have massive potential. Here’s a look at how the main card plays out with my UFC 126 predictions and betting picks (all odds are from Sports Interaction): At the end of this article I will offer my recommended bets for a $500 bankroll.
UFC 125 Picks and Betting Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 12/30/2010
The UFC is wasting no time putting their stamp on the New Year -- their first event of the year takes place on New Year’s Day. UFC 125 takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Jan. 1, 2011. The event is notable mostly because of how light the average weight of the fighters is -- there are no heavyweights on the whole card, the only title fight features lightweights, and the preliminary card features the first two featherweight fights held under the UFC banner.
UFC 124 Picks and Betting Predictions St. Pierre vs. Koscheck
by T.O. Whenham - 12/10/2010
UFC returns to Montreal - an obviously successful location for them - for the fourth time since UFC 83 in April of 2008 on Saturday, Dec.11 for UFC 124. Interestingly, UFC 83 was where heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez made his UFC debut. This is the second time that Georges St. Pierre -- perhaps the area’s most popular athlete right now - headlines one of those cards. At UFC 83 he got his revenge on Matt Serra in convincing fashion.
UFC 123 Betting Odds and Predictions With Recommended Wagers
by T.O. Whenham - 11/19/2010
You certainly can’t complain about a shortage of UFC events lately. Just a week after UFC 122 came to us on free TV from Germany, we get UFC 123 on pay-per-view from the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit. The card last weekend was a bit short on big-name excitement, but the same can’t be said here - though there is no title fight on the card, all four guys in the final two fights of the night have held a title at least once.
UFC 122 Odds - Marquardt vs. Okami and Full Fight Card Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 11/11/2010
The UFC must not like Germans very much. If they really did like them then they would bring a much better card to Oberhausen, Germany, for the second UFC card in Deutschland. Hosting any UFC event is probably better than not having one, but the organization is putting forth the card with the least amount of star power they possibly could.
UFC 121 Odds and Picks - Lesnar vs, Velasquez
by T.O. Whenham - 10/23/2010
Simply put, this is the best main event the UFC has given us in several events. The undercard isn’t perfect, but the main event - Brock Lesnar defending his title against Cain Velasquez - has the potential to be one for the ages. UFC 121 takes place on Saturday, October 23 in Anaheim, and will be available on pay-per-view. Here’s how the main card breaks down (all UFC 121 odds are from Bodog):
UFC 120 Odds with Betting Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 10/16/2010
The latest offering from the UFC - UFC 120 - comes to us from O2 Arena in London on Saturday. This is the fourth time that the UFC has been in that arena, and like some times before it this event will be shown on tape delay on Spike TV instead of on pay-per-view. The tape delay creates an extra profit opportunity for you if you have stupid friends. If you don’t then you’ll have to make your money through betting on the fights. Here’s how I see them turning out with some UFC 120 odds and predictions:
MMA Odds: UFC 119 Betting Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 9/24/2010
The UFC heads to a somewhat unlikely spot this week - Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The fine folks of Indiana are regularly treated to great football, but this card isn’t up to quite the same world-class caliber. The main event is a bit of a head-scratcher - there have certainly been stronger, more interesting, and more relevant matches recently. The rest of the main card in more interesting, but certainly not flashy. They aren’t going to break any pay-per-view records with this one.
MMA Odds: UFC 118 Betting Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 8/27/2010
UFC 118 is a card marked by two extremes - a main event lightweight championship fight that couldn’t be more interesting, and a heavyweight tilt that couldn’t be more ridiculous. the event takes place on Saturday, Aug. 28 in Boston, and it marks the first time the UFC has appeared in Massachusetts. Here’s a look at how the main card breaks down along with my predictions for betting (all MMA UFC 118 odds are from Bodog):
UFC 117 Odds Picks and Betting Predictions for MMA
by T.O. Whenham - 8/6/2010
It seems like forever since we have had a UFC pay-per-view. It’s actually been just over a month - UFC 116 was July 3 - but we had so many events so close together a while back that this seems like an eternity. Luckily, the wait will have been worth it because this is a very solid card that will be on display on Saturday, Aug. 7 from Oracle Arena in Oakland. Although I don’t think it was necessarily intentional, all five main-card matches feature an American fighter up against a Brazilian. Here’s a look at how the main card breaks down along with UFC odds and my picks and predictions for MMA betting:
UFC 116 Betting Odds, Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 7/2/2010
The latest UFC event - the 116th - takes place on Saturday, July 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It’s a card with only one really compelling fight, but that one’s so good it more than makes up for the rest. Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and undefeated interim heavyweight champ Shane Carwin will meet to determine the outright Heavyweight champ. Because Fedor Emelianenko was the victim of a stunning loss last weekend this fight has extra importance - the winner will not only be the UFC champion, but also can rightly be called the best heavyweight there is.
UFC 115 Odds, Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 6/10/2010
The UFC is agan opening new territory this week when it heads to Vancouver for UFC 115. The Olympic city is their first outpost in English-speaking Canada, and the response has been strong. Vancouver residents should be a bit insulted by this one, though. While their compatriots in Montreal have enjoyed one pretty good card and one that was truly epic Vancouver has been handed a bit of a dud.
UFC 114 Odds, Picks and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 5/27/2010
UFC 114, which takes place on Saturday, May 29 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, features a movie star coming home. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson has been off in Hollywood doing a bad imitation of Mr. T for the new A-Team movie, but he's back and fighting Rashad Evans, with the winner earning the right to fight Mauricio Rua for the title. This fight is the culmination of the two fighters' time on the latest season of “The Ultimate Fighter” as coaches.
UFC 113 Odds and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 5/7/2010
The UFC returns to the hometown of its best fighter on Saturday when they visit the Bell Centre in Montreal for UFC 113. This is a card that features a little bit of everything for fight fans. Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua meet in a light heavyweight title fight that is a rematch of their controversial meeting at UFC 104. Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley meet in a welterweight contest with the winner getting the dubious honor of getting to, or having to, fight Georges St. Pierre next time out.
UFC 112 Odds and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 4/9/2010
UFC 112 may be the best card that we have seen in a long while, and it is certainly the most unique. It's taking place in Abu Dhabi - the first time time the UFC has headed to the Persian Gulf - and it's the first-ever outdoor event. It's also going to challenge fans who are used to the typical schedule - due to time zone issues the PPV will be shown at 1 pm EST. It will be shown again at 10 pm EST, so you can win some money off your stupid friends by betting on that one. Here's a look at how the main card shapes up, with odds from Bodog:
UFC 111 Odds and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 3/26/2010
The 111th UFC event takes place on Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and it's the best card that they have had in months. For the first time in a while they have a main event that actually deserves to be a main event - one that is both thrilling and important. Here's a look at how the main card plays out (all odds are from Bodog) with my UFC 111 predictions:
UFC 110 Odds and Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 2/18/2010
UFC 110 marks an attempt to conquer new land by the Ultimate Fighting Championship - for the first time they are holding an event in Australia. The event will be taking place on the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 21 in Sydney, which means that it will be on at the normal 10 p.m, EST time in North America. The card doesn't have the very biggest names on it, but I think it's actually the most interesting card we have been offered in a while. Here's a look at how the main card breaks down, with odds from Bodog:
UFC 109 Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 2/4/2010
The UFC is back in action at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Saturday. UFC 109, cleverly known as Relentless this time around, is like a step back in time - it features a main event that could have happened 15 years ago, and likely would have been more interesting if it had. Here's a look at how that fight and the rest of the main card sets up (all odds are from Bodog):
UFC 108 Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 12/31/2009
The UFC starts off what is going to be a very busy year on Jan. 2 with UFC 108 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The name for this event is Evans vs. Silva, but the story of the event is unquestionably the injuries. This card seems to be cursed. Just look at the fighters who were announced to be a part of it before an injury forced a change - Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Shane Carwin, Gabriel Gonzaga, Tyson Griffin, Sean Sherk - it goes on and on.
UFC 107 Predictions
by T.O. Whenham - 12/10/2009
The year started for the UFC with UFC 93 on Jan. 17 in Dublin when Dan Henderson beat Rich Franklin by split decision in the main event. Now we're almost at the end of the year, and we just have one event left. UFC 107 will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis and will feature a main event between B.J. Penn and Diego Sanchez for the lightweight championship.
