Vivianne Miedema - As expected, Miedema has been the Netherlands' top attacking threat through its first three World Cup matches. The 22-year-old striker scored two goals in three games and now has a very impressive total of 60 goals in just 78 international games. Japan will know how important Miedema is and will probably put extra pressure on her, so she'll have to put in the work to find openings.

Anouk Dekker - The veteran midfielder is one of the Netherlands' most creative players and she's often the player who gets the ball when they are transitioning from defense to offense. Japan's defense is very good, so it will be up to players like Dekker to find the holes in that defense to open up chances for their top scorers.

The Japanese did not play like a team ranked seventh in the world during group play, but all they'll care about is that they did enough to make it to this round. Head coach Asako Takakura is probably very proud of the way her team played defensively, but she'll want to see more from them when they have the ball. If the Japanese can put pressure on Netherlands in the midfield and create chances for their struggling forwards, they do have a chance to make it to the next round.

Key Players for Japan:

Mana Iwabuchi - Japan will probably be on the back foot for the majority of this match, so Iwabuchi will need to be ready to put the Netherlands' defense under pressure whenever she gets her chances. The 26-year-old striker is Japan's top threat going forward and her speed could end up causing the Netherlands some problems.

Nana Ichise - The young defender is one to watch in this matchup because she is the most inexperienced defender on Japan. She'll need to step up against a very good Netherlands attack if Japan is going to have any chance in this match. She played well during the group stages, but the pressure increases quite a bit as you move forward in this tournament.
