Tunisia will play at Volgograd Arena when they take on England on Monday, June 18, 2018 in a Group G matchup. The opening line for this game has Tunisia at +1050 and England at -315. The total has been set at 2.75. In what many people expect to be a low-scoring affair, Tunisia will take on England in the first fixture in Group G. England will be the favorites going into this matchup, but Tunisia can frustrate opponents with their defense-first mentality and their ability to keep even the top offenses in check. England will be looking to grab all three points to keep pace with Belgium, while Tunisia will probably need to get at least a draw from this game to have any hopes of moving forward.

Tunisia

Tunisia hasn't lost an international game since back in March, getting five wins and drawing four in their last nine matches. They even impressively held on for a 2-2 draw against Portugal last month. However, their chances of advancing into the round of 16 took a huge blow when star forward Youssef Msakni sustained a knee injury in April. They should still be able to keep the scores low, but they will have some problems scoring themselves. Tunisia has been able to fly up the world rankings in recent months and they are currently ranked 14th overall. Coach Nabil Maaloul has only been with the team a few months, but he seems to have had a quick impression on the team as they have yet to lose a match in nine games with him at the helm.

Ali Maaloul

Maaloul may not be a household name, but opposing teams will know about him. The left back is known for getting forward as often as he can, often creating mismatches and opening up lanes for his teammates.

Wahbi Khazri

Tunisia's best chances of scoring will probably be through Wahbi Khazri. The attacking midfielder has 12 goals in 56 matches for his national team, including two during the World Cup qualification round.

England

This first game for England will be their chance to show the world that they are ready to get rid of the label of being perennial underachievers. They walked away with just one point during the 2014 World Cup group stages, which will simply be unacceptable this time around. Their new 3-5-1-1 formation has worked to keep the scores low against some tough opponents in recent months, but they will need to get more from their offense if they want to go far this year. England comes into the 2018 World Cup as the 13th ranked team in the world. Coach Gareth Southgate has done pretty well since taking over in 2016 and currently holds a 9-6-2 record.

Harry Kane

The 24-year-old was recently named captain and will look to reward his coach for that decision by scoring a bucket-full of goals in these group stage games. His teammates will be looking to get him the ball often after he was able to score five goals in six qualification games.

Raheem Sterling

Sterling hasn't been as solid for his national team as he has been for Manchester City, but he is the player that could carry England at times in this tournament. His incredible pace and his new-found goal scoring ability should help England advance.
