Belgium will take on Panama at Fisht Stadium in a Group G matchup on Monday, June 18, 2018. The opening line for this World Cup matchup has Belgium at -770 and Panama at +1900. The total opened at 2.75. In what might be one of the easiest games to bet on in the entire World Cup, Belgium will be taking on Panama in their first of what they hope will be many games in this tournament. Belgium and England are the favorites to get through Group G while Panama and Tunisia will probably just be playing for a couple of points of pride.

Belgium

As far as talent goes, there are few if any nations around the world boasting as much as this Belgium squad has. They have multiple elite attacking players, they have two or three elite players along their back line, and keeper Thibaut Courtois is no slouch between the sticks. If they can play to their potential, Belgium could be hoisting the trophy at the end of this tournament. Belgium are coming into the World Cup has the third-ranked team in the world. Roberto Martinez will be managing the squad after helping them get through the qualifying stages. The team has had a few iffy performances in recent months, but they have not lost a game since back in January of 2016.

Eden Hazard

There are a lot of great players on this Belgium team, but their key strategy on offense will be to go through the Chelsea star. If Hazard is on his game during this tournament, you can be sure that they will go far.

Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne took his game to the next level with Manchester City this season, and if he can replicate that type of play on the big stage, watch out. His job will be to get the ball to his feet often and spray it forward to his fellow attackers before the defenses can adjust.

Panama

At 30/1 odds in this matchup, absolutely no one is expecting this Panama team to put up much of a fight against Belgium. Chances are they will lose this game, possibly by a bunch of goals, but you can be sure that their countrymen will be very proud of them, regardless. They have made it to the World Cup for the first time in their history and they will give it all they have in this tough group. Panama is one of the lowest-ranked nations to make it into the World Cup as they are currently 55th in the FIFA rankings. Manager Hernan Dario Gomez has pulled off a minor miracle getting this team this far, but that's not too surprising for some people considering he's now qualified with three different nations over the last 20 years.

Luis Tejada

Tejada may not be the most talented striker in the world, but he certainly knows how to score goals. The 36-year-old has over 43 goals in his national team career and will probably be the one on the scoresheet should Panama find a way to get one or two by their opponents in this tournament.

Anibal Godoy

The San Jose Earthquakes midfielder is going to have a tough job against some of the best midfielders in the world in this group. However, he has done well in tournaments in the past, being named one of the top players Gold Cup group stages last year.
