The total has been set at 2.25. Argentina is expected to win this group, and Iceland is expected to give every team they face a problem, including Argentina. A lot of people will be looking forward to this Group D match up because it will have a favorite based on talent squaring up against a favorite based on people's love for the underdog. Argentina certainly should come out on top in this game, but never count out the Icelanders.

Argentina

Argentina has the team to go deep in this year's World Cup, but they have deservedly gained a bad rep for not showing up when it matters most. They had a hard time even making it into the group stages, and their recent string of friendlies have not helped to raise their fans' collective confidence. They will probably be competing with Croatia for the top spot in Group D, but they need their stars to step up to make it a comfortable ride. Argentina comes into the 2018 World Cup as the fifth-ranked team in the world. Manger Jorge Sampaoli, which took over in May last year, will be looking to pick up his first major trophy since leading Chile to the winning the Copa America back in 2015.

Lionel Messi

This one was obvious, right? Messi is one of the best players in the world and if he's at the top of his game, his teams usually win. He will be captaining this Argentina side and will be looking to shake off his reputation for playing at a higher level for Barcelona than for his national team.

Nicolas Otamendi

One of the reasons why Argentina has failed against other top nations is because they have given up quite a few goals even when they're able to score themselves. Otamendi made obvious strides as a defender for Manchester City this year, and his Argentina teammates are hoping he can replicate those skills at the World Cup.

Iceland

Most people probably can't name more than a player or two on Iceland, but anyone that has paid attention to world football over the last few years know that this squad can pull off some upsets. They may only be a five out of ten in talent, but they are a nine out of ten in chemistry. They made it all the way to the quarterfinals at the Euros, and they will be looking to pull off a similar miracle at the World Cup. Iceland has climbed the world rankings over the last few years and currently sits in 22nd place. Manager Heimir Hallgrimsson, who has been with the team since back in 2013, has done a fantastic of getting the most out of his players.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

As lone star on the team, Sigurdsson will be asked to provide many moments of magic if Iceland is going to escape this tough group. He brings a little bit of everything to the team, including a lethal shot from distance. You can be sure that Argentina, Croatia, and Nigeria will be keeping a close eye on him throughout each game.

Aron Gunnarsson

While Sigurdsson is the key talent in this Icelandic side, Aron Gunnarsson is the leader and tough guy in the middle who inspires his teammates to perform at their best levels. With over 75 caps, the Cardiff City midfielder will not be feeling the pressure under the brightest of bright lights.
