On Sunday afternoon, the Boston Bruins will try to end their two-game road losing streak when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Earlier this season, the Bruins were able to beat the Hurricanes 2-1 on home ice. Boston won that game despite going 0-for-2 on the power play and being outshot 34-25. Goalie Tuukka Rask was the top star of that win by stopping 33 of the 34 shots he faced.

Rask is now 5-3-0 against Carolina in his career with a solid 2.24 GAA and a .928 save percentage. Center Carl Soderberg has been able to notch one goal and three assists in four career games against the Hurricanes, while left wing Loui Eriksson has scored one goal and provided six assists to his teammates in 11 games against them.

On Friday night, the Hurricanes snapped their three-game losing streak by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on their home ice. Netminder Cam Ward was excellent in that game, stopping 23 of the 24 shots that came his way.

The Hurricanes have one of the best penalty kill percentages in the NHL, but they are near the bottom of the league in scoring with less than two goals per game. Ward is now 10-15-2 on the season with a .916 save percentage. Center Eric Staal is tied for the team lead in goals with 10 and is tops in points with 22.
