The Anaheim Ducks take on the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Anaheim leads the series at 3-2. The opening line has Chicago at -136 and Anaheim at +123. The over/under has been set at 5.
Game 5 at the Honda Center looked to be an easy win for the Ducks as they cruised for most of the game until Jonathon Toews scored two goals in just over a minute in the third period to send the game into overtime. All the momentum was in the Blackhawks favor but that didn't stop the Ducks from coming out in the first minute of overtime to end the game and take a 3-2 series lead heading back to the United Center in Chicago.
Once again, scoring from the Ducks came in bunches as Cam Fowler got his second goal of these playoffs at the 5:10 mark of the first period followed by Ryan Kesler about 3o seconds later, giving Anaheim a 2-0 lead. It didn't stop there as Sami Vatanen scored the Ducks' third goal of the game with a little more than five minutes to go in the first period to put the Ducks up 3. They seemed to be on their way to another home win.
Chicago got two goals back in the second period with Teuvo Teravainen and Brent Seabrook getting their second and fifth goal of the playoffs respectively. This got Chicago within one goal before Patrick Maroon put the Ducks back up two with just over five minutes left in the game. This is where the captain of the Blackhawks did what he does best and made something happen in a time where Chicago desperately needed it. Toews got his sixth and seventh goal in these playoffs with just under two minutes to play in the third period. However, it was just enough to extend the game for 45 seconds in overtime before Clayton Stoner ended it.
The Blackhawks will need a Game 6 win in Chicago to stay alive and if any team is up for the challenge, it would be this battle tested Blackhawks team.
In head to head matchups, the under is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings in Chicago and 19-7-2 in the last 28 meetings. The Ducks are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago.
