The Anaheim Ducks take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. The series is tied 1-1. The opening line has Anaheim at +115 and Chicago at -135. The over/under has been set at 5.
In Game 2 we had a triple overtime battle that ended with Marcus Kruger knocking in a deflection off of Frederik Andersen. However, this was a solid game by both goaltenders for the most part. There were a total of 118 shots on goal in this game with Corey Crawford turning away 60 of them and Andersen with 53 saves.
The first period started off with a hot Chicago Blackhawks team taking care of power play opportunities unlike in Game 1. The first goal came at the 2:14 mark when Andrew Shaw scored while being assisted by Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews. Marian Hossa then followed that up by being credited for the Hawks second goal at the 6:19 mark. Andrew Cogliano was then able to get one back for the Ducks and heading into the second period with a one goal deficit.
Corey Perry was able to tie the game with a goal towards the end of the second period. This was the last goal we'd see by either team until the third overtime.
Assisted by Brent Seabrook and Johnny Oduya, Marcus Kruger was able to clean up the puck in front of the net to end the game and tie up the series heading back to Chicago for Game 3.
Head-to-head, the under is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings in Chicago and 20-6-2 in the last 28 meetings. The Ducks are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Chicago and 2-5 in the last 7 meetings.
