In their last meeting, Winnipeg welcomed the Coyotes back from the Olympic break by beating them 3-2 in a shootout. The teams have taken different paths since that February 27th meeting with Phoenix climbing into the 8th seed in the Western Conference playoff run and Winnipeg sliding the other way down the scale.

For a team so far down in the standings Winnipeg actually has a decent road record at just under .500. The Jets even pulled off a huge upset win in San Jose last Thursday night winning 4-3 at a +206 payout. That win was part of a 5 game road trip that finally wraps up Tuesday in Phoenix, immediately after a Monday night meeting in Anaheim. The Jets will look to improve on a 3-6-1 record in their last 10.

The Coyotes sit in the 8th spot but can either move up or down depending on how the final 7 games of the season play out. A hot streak to finish out could boost them into the 7th seed to play San Jose in the first round of the playoffs instead of possible President's Trophy winner St. Louis. Skidding down the end could have them out of the postseason altogether as Dallas trails for the final spot by only 3 points.

Oddsmakers were expecting a close game when Winnipeg and Phoenix met up last time as both teams were money line favorites. As it turns out regulation nor overtime could crown a winner and the Jets were finally able to get a win in the shootout 3-2 for a -106 payout.
