On Saturday, the Winnipeg Jets will be going up against the Nashville Predators in a game that will feature two of the better defenses in the NHL. Nashville was able to win three out of their five games against the Jets last season.

On Thursday night, the Jets put 37 shots on goal against the Carolina Hurricanes and came away with a 3-1 road win. Their top performer in that win was right wing Blake Wheeler, who had two of the three goals.

The Jets have the third-best defense in the league right now by only giving up two goals per game to their opponents. Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has been great in net by going 7-5-2 with a .928 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA. Center Bryan Little has scored five goals and has a team-best plus/minus of +5.s

On Thursday, the Predators had their three-game winning streak come to an end when they were beaten 4-3 by the St. Louis Blues on the road. They were dominated at the faceoff dot in that loss and they finished 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Preds have only scored 2.5 goals per game this season, but their defense has done well to only give up 2.1 goals per game. Center Filip Forsberg has been far and away their best offensive threat by notching eight goals and 12 assists. Goalie Pekka Rinne is 10-3-1 with a 1.98 GAA and a .928 save percentage.
