Tuesday night, the Winnipeg Jets will journey to the Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens. 

The Winnipeg Jets hustled to get a 2 -1 shootout victory over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night.  The game was a close matchup from the minute that they dropped the puck.  The two teams each scored a goal in the 1st period and from that moment on, it was a scoreless affair.  After scoreless 2nd, 3rd and overtime periods, the game went to a shootout.  And in the 6th round of the shootout, Mathieu Perreault got the game winner for Winnipeg.  The Jets have played well in recent weeks but they will face a test in a very good Montreal Canadiens team as they make the 2nd stop on a 5 game road trip that will see them facing the Hurricanes, Predators and Wild. 

The Montreal Canadiens will come into this one after getting a 4 -1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.  Both teams started slow as neither of them could find a way to get the puck in the back of the net during the 1st period.  But Montreal heated up in the 2nd period as they scored the first goal of the game to take the early lead.  And after Minnesota matched that goal, Montreal answered with another goal to end the 2nd.  Two more goals in the 3rd strengthened the lead and secured the victory.  The Canadiens can expect that the Jets will give them a stronger challenge than the Wild did.
