The Winnipeg Jets will try to get back on the winning track on Thursday night when they face the Colorado Avalanche. The Jets have beaten the Avs in both of their games against each other this season.

The Jets played one of their better offensive games of the season on Tuesday when they easily defeated the Dallas Stars 5-2 on the road. Left wing Adam Lowry was their top star in that win by scoring two of their five goals.

Through 29 games, the Jets have had one of the best defenses in the league by allowing just 2.2 goals per game. Left wing Andrew Ladd has 10 goals and is tied for the team lead in points with 22. Goalie Ondrej Pavelec has a 9-8-3 record this season with one shutout, a .915 save percentage and a 2.30 GAA.

On Tuesday night, the Avalanche lost their fourth game in a row when the Nashville Predators beat them 3-0 in Colorado. The Avalanche were 0-for-2 on the power play in that loss and ended up being outshot 36-26.

The Avalanche are only scoring 2.5 goals per game this season and have given up 3.2 goals per game to their opponents. Netminder Semyon Varlamov has only been able to win four his 15 starts this season and currently owns a 3.21 GAA with a .909 save percentage.
