Wednesday night, the Winnipeg Jets will make a stop at the First Niagara Center as they face the Buffalo Sabres.

The Winnipeg Jets will come into Buffalo after making the first stop in a 3 game road trip in Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. Winnipeg has played better on the road this season than they have at home and that might help them shake off any fatigue that they might be experiencing.   Given their recent losing streak at home, the Jets might try to turn things around in Columbus, Buffalo and Boston before they return home.  Columbus could end up being a little easier to handle than Buffalo.

The Buffalo Sabres scratched out a 2 – 1 win over the Washington Capitals in their last game on Saturday night.  The teams played a scoreless 1st period before the Sabres struck first on a Matt Moulson goal midway through the 2nd period.  Washington tied things up in the 3rd but a late goal by Torrey Mitchell put Buffalo back on top.  The Sabres held on the rest of the way to earn their 3rd straight victory. Buffalo was severely outshot (44 – 26) and they allowed Washington to score on their only power play opportunity.  A cleaner game will be needed on Wednesday night, even against the Jets.
